You're right, I haven't given it time. But I have formed an opinion. And I have lived in many different areas, to base this opinion on. I take it you're not a skier? And your taking opinion from ppl that glorify the places they go, due to lack of experiences elsewhere. I worked at Silver Mt this winter. I've been to Schweitzer, 49, Mt Spokane.. I'm sticking with what I've said about the skiing and riding. This is just my opinion on Spokane.. Doesn't mean it's true. I'm glad other ppl give their imput as well, so you ca get a good overview on the place Minx!

Spokane is just a poor city. Not much culture. The jobs pay crap. If you want to be close to great skiing/climbing/alpine/City of rocks/Tetons ..WTF! it's not close to any of those things... Tetons 15 hours.. City of rocks 10 hours.. Wassatch Range 11+ hours ..Rainier other than Summer 7+ hours.. If you don't mind living in a poor city with no culture like Spokane.. I recomend Pocatello ID. Less than 2 hours to city of rocks, Less than 3 hours to the Tetons.. Less than 3 hours to Utah snow.. Not to mention Jackson Hole/Grand Targhee/Teton Pass ..Not this Schweitzer/Silver Mt Bull Shit.. 14 bucks for a pitcher of Coors fog fest.

  9. Looking for a partner, not set on any particular route.
  10. I would have been bummed to see so many ppl from the same group with topropes everywhere. Especially in a place as small as minnehaha, especially on a w/e... Free up some space.. Make smaller groups. Or do it on a weekday. I think thats rude pindude..
  11. Would I get a free Birthday Drink?
  12. How is the approach right now? Still enough coverage to ski? Or can you just hike it now.. without floatation?

    deeply offensive

I'm not sure what you are reffering to, but didn't Kerry vote in favor of going to war in Iraq? I'm not sure I like Kerry's voting record, but Bush has shown us he's a liar, and the people working for him are liars.. It takes a lot to stand up to tyrants.. Clarke may deserve more credit than you give him.
  16. What? no drinking no drugs? no
  17. Sounds like someone is moving to the Phillipines..
  18. Since it's your first trip to the Valley. I'd just do some craggin everywhere instead of committing one of your 2 days on a long rt. Sunnyside bench is great in march.. so is nuts only cliff.. um i think thats what its called.. I'd check out bishops terrace.. 5 open books.. all of those should be warm and fuzzy in the sun.. the south side of the valley is still cold and damp.. lots of snow in the gulleys Have fun.. if you get cold.. remember the buses are free and have heaters..
  19. I'd just like to add a few things.. First of all, I made it to Muir in about 5.5 hours, you made it in closer to 4.75 ..hehe, but I did plague our trip with a few problems.. ehh my bad on crampons, I used my BD sabretooths with my Makula's ..usually I used my Salomon Snow & Ice boots.. so my crampons kept "popping off" at the most inconvienient of times. I also didn't quite do a good enough checklist on my gear. I was in a huge rush, coming from Spokane. But I must say despite feeling like I let my partner down, "not being in as good of shape as she, or as well prepared" ,I was super happy to get out of Spokane and get some fuken SUN,SNOW, and WIND in my face. You are awesome H.C. Thanks for the Leadership. 19 or not.
  20. Get a boat and live on it.. Stay in Squamish, if you don't like it, move to Seattle, ? no good move to Bellingham ,still not happy try Portland. Still not happy, give it to me and take my shitty apt.
  21. oops.. Too much last night. not enuf
  22. I'd just get beta from ppl at the climbers ranch. It'd be more up to date on snow & ice conditions. I've seen snow on the glacier rt. all through the year, then I've seen it pollished in June. Same goes with the NW Couloir. The rangers at Jenny Lake can sometimes give you good condition reports as well.
  23. I've had the worst weather in Sept. I'd play it safe for july-aug ..more peeps, but better chance on dry rock
