  1. I talked to Jon, sorry but the Forest Service asked us to take down purmit.com. Looks like they no longer approve of selling or trading permits from a third party. So sorry but nothing we can do...please contact the Forest Service as to what to do with your permits or how to get permits.
  2. i think purmit.com is dead...that "forum" was just a redirect to that website. we probably could create a permit exchange forum....not sure though, what do you think @jon

  12. *rim slap* https://www.northwestpaddling.net/paddle-clubs I have a friend that races kayaks and there are a number online communities. I'm not sure, but I think he was on a Yahoo group, but I think they moved to here (he is from Bellingham): https://groups.io/g/Whatcompaddlers But that is for racers I think, not sure that helps a newb. I am not the person to ask beyond that info.

  14. Agree with what Jason is saying, but it also depends on what your are carrying, sometimes even with a rack that is "designed" for a vehicle or a gutter mount. Lost an aluminum Grumman and another canoe coming back from the Bowron years back...huge bummer. Big crosswinds got us and overwhelmed the gutters, the canoes were basically kites. Luckily the vanagon (with my son and his friend in it) didn't tip over too...was scary to watch that unfold, the vanagon up on two wheels in the wind. Luckily the gutters did fail and the canoes found the ditch. Anyway yeah you might be able to make it work, but shit may also end up in the ditch depending on conditions or the load.
