I parked near a "Winter Recreation Site" yesterday and got a $75 ticket, even though it's not even winter and I wasn't recreating anywhere near their site. Any ideas that might help me out of this rediculously excesive parking ticket?

One pair of Ramer bindings, Ramer MT2000 (toe bail) still available. Also available, Koflach plastic boots. Pay for shipping and a six-pack, and they're yours.

Liners are gone. Ramer bindings and Koflach boots are still available. Thanks!

I have 2 sets of Ramer AT bindings, brand new, never mounted, both w/o heelpieces to lock it down, so it functions more like a tele binding, or great for long ski approaches. Pretty much identical, one set is the Ramer Universal (heel bail), the other is the Ramer MT2000 (toe bail). These work great with climbing boots. Photos available upon request. Only $20 for your new pair! Koflach Mountaineering Boots: These are the predicessor to the Arctis Expe, called the Montana, I believe. Hard plastic boot is made for size 11 and 11.5 liners and great for mountaineering. These things have tons of life left and are a far cry cheaper than the new $250+ Koflachs. Photos available. $25 takes em. Intuition/Morrow thermo liners. US Mens 11. Brand new, unmolded, $30. I also have a pair of Size 11 Montrail Moraine boots in good condition. pm or email for more info or pics. Thanks, Ben N.

I've got some CTC's as well. For me, the heel slips more than the Vitesse, but way less than the D7. Feels like they all use different lasts, which it's kinda messed up, since they're all made by the same company. The sole is soft and noticibly more grippy than the Vitesse. For haulin ass on trails, I still prefer the Vitesse, and for rock hopping, I'd prefer a proper boot, so that doesn't leave much room for the CTC's. I hear they're wicked good at grocery shopping, we'll see...

Just a quick follow-up. We ended up doing some stuff around Chiwawa, so it was closest to shower at Lake Wenatchee State Park. 75 cents buys you 2 minutes of hot water; the cold water is free and lasts as long as you can stand it.

Damn! That's a good deal.

I had a Geko 201 for about a year, then switched to the Foretrex 101, which I've had since they first released them. It's nice having it on your wrist and easy to see, but it takes a real beating when you scramble/climb. It has all the same features as the Foretrex 201, but no rechargable battery (which was a selling point for me, since there's not too many places to plug your recharger in when you're backcountry. Simple, lightweight/compact and cheap. lightweight

I've got to be at a wedding on Saturady evening in Leavenworth, but I'm planning to climb Fri-Sat, then come back for the wedding, then climb/camp again Sun-Mon. SO I'm looking for a shower in the area. Is there anything reminiscent of a hostel around there? The only place I can think of off the top of my head is the State campground just off US2 near Peshastin. I would just jump in the river, but that water's COLD and I'm a wuss. Any suggestions are welcome.

This is a Lightweight, full-Spectra backpack from Kelty’s Enlighten series (includes the Vapor, Cloud, Phantom and Flight), it’s just like the Kelty Cloud, but slightly smaller, with a total volume of 3000-4000 cubic inches. Super-durable and fully customizable, the top lid and pockets are all removable, and there’s a webbing hip belt as well a padded hip belt, all interchangeable, and nearly indestructible. The only downside to this pack was the single buckle design which allowed the top lid (and things stored under it, like coiled ropes, rolled sleeping pads, etc) to lean to one side or the other. This has been solved by the addition of 2 buckles on the top lid, and can be seen in the photo. The pack carries a Lifetime Warranty from Kelty, and they’re very good about repairs/replacements, should anything ever go wrong with the pack in your lifetime. All original packaging, paperwork and tags are included. Various configuration weights: Summit Pack (Base Pack and compression straps): 1 lb. 1.9oz Alpine Pack (Base Pack, top pocket, 40mm web belt, 8 gear loops, shovel/crampon pouch) 2 lbs. Backpacker (Base Pack, Top Pocket, aluminum stays, foam back pad, padded hip belt, side pockets and compression straps) 2 lbs. 13 oz Photo can be seen here: http://www.nwhikers.net/forums/download.php?id=11434 Review can be found here: http://66.39.74.171/cgi-bin/reviews/tlb1999/config.pl?read=34 Asking $150/obo

http://www.sportshell.com/ the 'Original' weighs 3.2 oz and cost $10.00. There's no hood, so save your plastic grocery bags to put on your head. But for $10, who cares... If you gotta spend more than $10 to feel like a real man, then check out the Patagucci ReadyMix...only 20 times more than the SportShell, but it's got a hood

I picked up a pair of LaSportiva Trango S, Size 45 (US 11.5-12, I think) from Sierra Trading Post for $120 (normally $230). Brand new, unused, original packaging, all that. They're not the EVO's, so no gtx liner, but still some kick ass boots for whoever wants them. My boots have lots of life left in them, so if anyone wants these for what I paid ($120), let me know...otherwise I'm sending back for a refund.

I'd go for the EVO's. They're heaps lighter than the Glaciers, and the last (foot form) is a little different and fits my foot better. Sierra Trading Post has last year's model (trango s) on closeout for $119 to your door (find 20% discounts and free shipping discounts at FatWallet.com). These ofcourse don't have the GTX liner, so they breathe better in the summer when it's dry, but they get wet when it's wet out. Good luck.

Nothin I like more than standing in lines! I spend a lot of my free time just hanging out at the DMV, they've got some great lines there. I'm starting up an Extreme Line Standing Club and we're gonna have organised tours to stand in such famous lines as Disneyland, DC on Rainier, and more! Sign up early, while there's still room on the bus
