I've yet to see a free-heel jibber ever do a telemark turn in the pipe - what exactly makes them free-heel? Check out the ski porn "parrelled 3.0 - soul slide" it is full of freel hellers taking big hits, rippin it up in the park, and doin double back flips of kickers in the back country... it has a lot of big mountain too, its a bitchin flick!!! "what exactly makes them free-heel?" Sha, bindings, duh...

Speeking of shane, did any of you pick up the latest Skiig mag, there is a picture of shane sliding sideways down a 45 degree face for 2000 vertical feet, on water skis no less... he mounted up bindings on a pair of water skis... fuck that!

Any body that back countries big mountains, is not so suck... So do you bc because of the asent/desent? I ask cuase most of my bc day are spent on pitaly litte shiters slicin thick trees in deep powder, and try to rail fallin trees, and building jumps to through myself off of, or finding little cliffs to drop... I don't do a lot of big mountains, cause i've never had the proper gear, and when you don't have good gear, those long slogs and steep asents are a bitch. that said, i am investing in better gear fo bc this year...

I think skiing is a lot like climbing in the sense that if your not sketched and fallin some times, you aint pushin your self hard enough. that said skiing makes me hard... HA HA HA... I like to ski the chaired mountains as much as the back country. call me a jibber if you will, but I love the park... the feeling of taking a big hit off a table top, or the glorious rush of spinning a 360 on a huge step up. The trick is to accurately judge your speed so you land in the right area. this is some thing I have trouble with. hence I pay for taking the hits. I do take bigger hit then any of my comrades, but I pay alot more. After the park we tend to head out of bounds. this is were my favorite cornises( fuck i can't spell), and little cliffs are found. fun little stuff, to bust a trick off this stuff and land into the deep powder. but big cliffs, well big for me and big for skiing. the 40-60ft cliffs really turn me on, I think its because I've nocked my self out a time or ten on these fuckers. Call me an idiot, but if your not taking hits and pay for it your not getting better at taking the hits... I push my limit every year and every year it seem like i get better, and more comfortable on the wonderful sea of snow... Discuss? do you guys like taking hits or is it the surfing, making glorious turns that gets you going?

Speaking of weird... My wifes bosses husband just bought a little travel trailer put it under a bridge some where and covered it with tin foil; before that he got a large tent, moved a cot, his desk and computer, and a mini refrigerator, set it all up in the back yard and covered it tin foil; lived in the back yard for months.... and he has been wearing a batters helmet cover in tin foil lately... apparently the aliens can read all of our minds except his cuz of the foil of corse... weird....

Trask that much of an ass to you that you don't acsept PM's eh? I've got a hand full of bindings, some old, and others not so old... I'll check to see what iz gots and post them on monday... the skis that they are on are strait sticks, so you probably don't whant them, but I do have a hand full of boots to... what size of ski boots the kid wear... its all old gear though early 90's, don't know if you'd even be interested... I'd let you have it for super cheep (shipping and demounting). like I said, i'll post what it is and pic on monday.

Oh erik, The Appaloosa which is native to Idaho, Washington, and Oregon; it came across the the ice bridge many many years ago along with camels and such... camels have long been extinct do to the killing nature of the Clovis people. but horses did survive the epidemic known as man, but mammoths, camels, along with many other mammals native to the eastern contenates didn't.... so really it depends on what type of breed your talking about that determines weather or not horses are native or not... they definitely are to our part of the country... Uh, Fejas, you better check your facts. I'm pretty sure that horses are not native to North America. All the horses that run wild are descendants of those lost by early Spanish and subsequent explorers and settlers. There were horses here many thousands of years ago, but not when Europeans first "discovered" the continent. Hey drul, even though I don't wear boots and a hat any more I still consider my self a cowboy, by the state of mind... I usta ride like the wind, jump off my horse, and westle 600lbs animals to the ground, so if ya think your tuff enough... bring it on stick boy...

For a beginner, get something heavy, a heavy ski with a tight turn radis will make learning to ski a breeze... something like the HEAD - monster... whats your price range? Boot are very important the stiffer the better for a beginner and down hill... I really like Marker bindings. It doesn't matter what brand of boots, as long as they're a decent weight, stiff, and they fit your feet really good... A ski like the head, with markers, and a stiff boot would be a great down hill set up, but would not be convertible, well i guess you could but it would be a pain... Get a lesson! they are really not that expensive, and its from an unbiased person that gives lessons all day long... I had one when I started, and it help... course that was a long time ago too...
