That's wild! Got to say though, pilots love that sort of thing. They totally live for the adrenaline. An old girlfriend of mine's father was a pilot. He had tons of stories like that. He once told me the following story... A U.S. pilot was taxiing in Dresden airport. He taxied to the wrong gate, and the controller got all pissy, and asked him if he'd ever been to this airport before. The pilot replied, "I was here in 1944, but I didn't land." Not sure if it's true, but definitely funny.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. I just want to point out though that "using the system" connotes that I received something for free and there's some kind of benevolence involved. What I've had from my experience in the U.S. has been earned. Plain and simple. The track scholarship was offered to me because I deserved it as have jobs and earnings. Regarding current status of government in the U.S., no I don't support it, and there's a fair amount of Americans that don't support it. I'll give credit where credit is due, and I just don't think it's warranted at the moment with our current government. There are plenty of other threads here where I've expressed enjoyment regarding something American so it's not that I'm anti-American...far from it. Perhaps it just grates you to hear criticisms that bear some truth, and the only response you and your ilk have is to point out that I'm not American, my opinion is illegitimate, and that I should go back to wherever I came from. Like JoshK said earlier, put some thought into the points that are raised and debate the points instead of focusing on me not being American. I obviously bring a different angle to many issues and raise some topics that I know will be controversial, but I am genuinely interested to hear how Americans feel about what is being said about them around the world.

That's not a bad rule of thumb. Sometimes you have no choice though...I'm flying Min-Vody Airlines from Moscow to Mineralinye-Vody in a few weeks Also going Aeroflot from Berlin to Moscow. There's no hope for us I guess.

Maybe 'cause he doesn't take it up the cornhole, like you do. Let's not get bitter now you gun-toting perp.

Nice!!! I'll have to remember that next time they refuse to upgrade me.

I hear that Bucharest is a place well worth checking out. Not been much to Eastern Europe yet though. This summer will be the first fairly extensive trip there. A mate of mine used to go out with a chick on the university tennis team. She was from Bucharest. Absolute stunner. Used to model lingerie. We used to go up to my buddy's room and "borrow" pictures of her every now and then

Two weeks ago on a flight to London, I sat down next to some English guy. In front of us was a very drunk American dude. About an hour into the flight, we were watching a movie and the American turned to the English guy and started talking (slurring). The Englishman tried to be all polite and just said sorry, but he was watching the film. Next thing, the American wrote a note and gave it to the Englishman. It said something like, "We are allies now. Let's share a drink." We were kinda laughing and went back to watching the film. The drunk guy kept badgering us though, and next thing, he wrote another note saying "Germany and U.S. are allies. We stopped taking orders from you in 1945. Let's drink." WTF??? So, we got the airline attendant to keep an eye on him. She told him to stop annoying the passengers and go to sleep. Next thing, he's turning around to chat to us again. This time, the attendant pulled his drink out of his hand and ordered him to sleep. He quickly did. When we landed, he acted like nothing had happened (probably couldn't remember a thing). - Once got horny and rubbed one out in the bathroom - Once had a Belgian guy on a Sabenas flight puke all over himself. The plane absolutely fucking stunk so bad. - Once saw a guy pleasuring a chick he'd met just as he sat down on a trans-atlantic flight. This was the same guy that 3 hrs previously had boarded a plane with me in Sweden as he kissed his girlfriend goodbye and they were both crying.

Definitely. Although, I'm going to try and have a profanity free day today. Not fucking easy I can tell you.

Sounds like you need to get beyond the confines of your trailer, or does your parole terms prohibit that?

Got a buddy moving to NZ in November. I'd love to go there someday...where d'ya go? Get any skiing and climbing in?

Just curious as to who has traveled to other countries, and where they went, how long they went for, and what they did... I've studied in Scotland, France, and the U.S. I've worked in Portugal, Sweden, Scotland, and the U.S. I've traveled for fun to Ireland, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Holland, Luxemburg, Germany, Iceland, Canada, Argentina, Chile, and I think that's about it. Russia, Poland and Czech are on the list this summer. What about you lot?

Just so everyone knows, there was nothing sinister in the PM. Just a polite request... "Call me what you want. Ridicule me however you wish. Treat me like everyone else though, and save the flag waving nonsense for someone else because Fairweather, you may not like what I say, but your comments in my book are atrociously xenophobic."
-
"Why Do People Hate America" is a book. Read it. Plenty of people disagreed with me, and some agreed. The result was a pretty healthy and long thread about the topic. You on the other hand continue to insult me by offering nothing more than racist rhetoric and I'm sick of it.
-
Fuck off and die you racist bastard. Your racist comments are getting on my fucking nerves. If you want to say anything to me, save it for pub club and we'll see how racist you want to be then.
-
I just get tired of his shit FS. Everyone else here argues the content of each other's posts, including mine. Not everyone agrees and it's fine. Fairweather on the other hand, refuses to engage on that basis and instead rolls out these fucking xenophobic remarks, thinking that unless I'm American, I don't have a valid opinion. It absolutely fucking infuriates me. It's cocksuckers like him that would give any country a bad name. He's probably part of the same crowd that smashed in the windows of the local patiserie and calls french fries Freedom Fries. You've traveled FS, and you know that you see things you like and dislike in every place you've been. You chat with the locals and engage them in conversation. Do you ever hear, "I refuse to argue with you because you're not Lithuanian" or what not? It's fucking stupid. You're right though, I do need a drink.

So, who did you vote for JGowans? I see you're a big fan of our first ammendment. (After all, your pie-hole never seems to shut!) So why do you decry the second? And tell me why your opinion should matter anyway. Become a citizen....vote....whine! That is the proper order of things my Scotish friend. Fuck off you condescending prick. You think that because I'm not American I can't offer an opinion, or if I do, it's not valid cos I don't have a piece of paper saying that I'm a citizen. You're a complete fucking twat. The fact that I pay taxes gives me the right to have an opinion. Btw, I didn't express any fucking opinion in this thread. Just provided a link. You're the one that offered an opinion. Btw, I have no intention of EVER becoming an American. I have enjoyed living here, and have appreciated the hospitality of many, but at the end of the day, I'm Scottish, proud to be Scottish, and will always only be Scottish, and yes, I will go home at some point. Don't take it as a slight that I don't wish to be American. I realize it may be shocking to note that I'm not your average immigrant for whom life was shit back home and now bleeds red white and blue. No, it's a life experience here that's been a lot of fun, but there's loads more fun places to check out before I get old and crusty. For those that are busy creating a reply offering to pack my shit for me, save it cos it's fucking boring you fucking xenophobic wankers.
-
He left Scotland cos he's a pussy. Used to get his heid kicked in every weekend at the clubs. That fanny pack is a sporran and that's where the booze is. My dagger's (sgian dubh) in my sock.

Didn't Samuel L. Jackson say that in Pulp Fiction? Samuel L. Jackson is Scottish.

Guns per 100 people. There are more than 270 million small arms in circulation in the U.S. Note that the study only counted small arms. I imagine Greg can tell us what that counts and discounts.

Yes you are. I'll be using it for commuting to work which is a fairly flat 5Km from my place to my office. I don't need a mountain bike, and since everyone and their granny has one, what's wrong with being a wee bit different? Moreover, I had a Specialized Rockhopper that was stolen from a bike rack inside my condo building. I can't imagine anyone would want to steal a beach cruiser. Also, I wanted to get a Harley but have decided on something a bit more economical Enough info?

No Josh, they're not really in the same class. They have less than half the percentage of the U.S. We're number 1. We're number 1. We're number 1!!!

Wasn't GW's election slogan "Read my lips, a gun for every man woman and child?" At least he's delivering. Here's to you Shrub! Guns Baby
