  1. Doubt it can be in worse shape than the digs at my place of work, though big billys is a lot smaller, but u do get your own room and bathroom. I have no idea where or if ill go on exchange this year, T-Ride would be cool for sure though... So what kinda job they got you doing there this year? Guess I wont be seeing you bummin around the mountain this year...
  2. Big Billy's?
  3. Yeah I just went and looked at them too, Noticed the display was only 9 DIN and a small, they went in the back to discover the Medium is infact 12. I had not seen it mentioned ANYWHERE that the small was like that, glad i had not ordered them yet. AS far as the Binding goes I really question its strength, LOTS of plastic and the way the rear track adjusts seems a little weak. Im sure they beat the hell out of them before bringing them out, but I think I'll Let someone else try em out first. They do seem to lock down better then Fritschi but that makes them hard to switch and change the heel elevator height.
  4. Speaking of AT gear, has anyone seen a pair of the NAXO AT bindings anywhere?
  5. Dont most Tele Marketed skis have less material in the heel mounting area, part of what makes the ski lighter. Therefore they would make poor AT or Alpine skis because of week mounts?

    Nerd Question

Using a cell phone from 30000 feet actually causes more problems for the cell network that anything, constant tower hand offs and the possibility of pulling in multiple towers at the same time, it can (and does) actually crash an MTSO.

Whadda mean their probes rule, they got recalled too and oh yeah THEY SUCK too...
  8. Nothing short of Nylon plastic or latex will keep your hands dry and those just cause you to sweat out the insides anyway. I gave up a while ago on dry gloves and just went with somthing that stills keeps them warm. OR Grippers have served me well.
  9. The recent Tree Well related death was an alpine Skier...
  10. K2 Clickers work well with the ripcord idea, Vans Switch works also but not quite as well. Dont forget to skip the leash if your hoping to avoid the Boat anchor effect in a slide, good luck actually managing to reach down and pull it in a slide though...

    FUNNY

I used to commute regularly between The Bay and Seattle, Had this very flight attendant on numerous occasions (or one that stole her act) She was quite funny and it was cool to see her add bits and pieces to it over the course of a year or so. And watching two little kids look at mom and ask panicked which one was the favorite was priceless.
  13. Actually Greg, Erden was using a Petzl Reverso not a Gri-Gri at the time of the accident. Also he stated that he thought he had pulled some of the slack through the belay device and then wrapped it around his arm giving him a nasty rope burn when it caught. Anyone who choses to use a Gri-Gri to belay a trad leader is free to climb without me... Also small point but i think many would appreciate you not refering to him as having killed himself, but rather him having died...
  14. AT&T service on that side of rainer is from a tower on top of Grubstake Mtn (top of green valley chair at crystal mtn) Which as of 2 months ago had not been upgraded to serve Gsm/GPRS, Even though AT&T's maps have been showing coverage on crystal mtn since last fall ...
  15. Im officailly in for either one, let me know what the decision is...

  21. Yeah I gotta get that soon, somtime before i run off to squamish for who knows how long. I ended up taking my freakin snowboard helmet with me, thankfully i didnt have to wear it though... Borrowed maryk's, thank for that by the way, I was quite greatful and actually tightend the straps on my last lead when i got off route and couldnt find the damn bolt 10 feet away (it was rock colored).
  22. In anything other than a truck with decent clearance and large tires, I would stop about a mile before we did i think. But what happened could really just be luck, the left side (going in) track is definantly in worse shape then the right as well. There is also ALOT of brush, so if you dont want to get the car scratched up id stop at a turn off at about 6-6.5 miles.
  23. Me Writer, hah, barly passed english... Actually failed, had to take yearbook to make up the credit the next year. Although I didnt fail cause I was stupid, or maybe i was stupid because i didnt ever do any of the work . Jshamster TR'd it a couple hours ago here
  24. Great route, great partners, acceptable weather, alright approach, SUCK road ... Unbeleivable how hard it was to get that wheel off, rocks, prying, hitting, kicking etc... didnt even budge. And when it did come off it made quite the noise and had some force behind it. Thanks to Boonecounty and Partner for saving us from the burnt feet walk to D-town. if i run into you again.
  25. Now why would you want to do that...
