a discussion of the "castle doctrine": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_Doctrine_in_the_United_States for Washington State: The statute in Washington state appear to be very simply and broadly stated.[19] The law allows use of deadly force in the lawful defense of oneself, a family member, or any other person, when there is reasonable ground to prevent action(s) of the person slain to commit a felony or to do injury or harm, and there is imminent danger of such design being accomplished; or in the actual resistance of an attempt to commit a felony upon the slayer, on those in their presence, or upon or in a dwelling, or other place of abode, in which they are. Washington state doesn’t have a specific Castle Doctrine law, but has no duty to retreat as precedent was set when the State Supreme Court found "that there is no duty to retreat when a person is assaulted in a place where he or she has a right to be."[20][21] which means there is no duty to retreat, in the home or anywhere else ... it isn't the frontier for nothing.

That he wasn't inside the house when he killed him? I'd think it makes a huge difference to assess whether it was self-defense because going out to look for a robber isn't the same as checking there is nobody in your house.

Point Break has lots of scenes supposed to show the late 80's west coast "extreme" sport culture. I think both he and Reeve did most of their own surfing and sky-diving stunts (except I don't think anyone did the jumping without a chute bit)
-
I thought this was about whether Bin Laden was still alive.
-
In Point Break, Swayze just told Reeve that he had to help with the bank heist if he wanted to see his girl friend again: Reeve: I am a FBI agent Swayze: I know, isn't it wild?
-
hum, no. Lots is known about Blackwater mercenaries being poster boys for out of control violence, including killings of innocents, whereas I don't know anything about the case you're talking about or whether I should take at face value what is being said about it.
-
Although I have huge problems with Obama's foreign policy that I have detailed in part before, wacking off some murderous nutjob may not be one of them (though, I reserve final judgment until I know more), and it certainly doesn't compare with wanton murder or whatever else Blackwater/Xe are accused of doing.
-
Err, would it have to do with the race-baiting and minority/poor voter suppression efforts by Republicans at election times? Do you need details?
-
the McCarthyist thug comes out when you find nothing to say?
-
In the meantime, Blackwater/Xe still gets 100's millions worth of federal contracts despite all the "collateral damage" over the last 6 years and probably much worse: http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?page=1&id=8258915 . But of course, hounding a large community organization for the poor/ethnic minorities with a few bad apples is the agenda of the fox noise machine and a number of posters here.
-
Actually it says a hell of a lot. yes, it says that ethnic minorities who are now a combined majority turned out for the vote, but it says nothing about the bigots on FOX and those who agree with their pandering.

a decent political argument on the basis of a list that starts with a supposed offense to the queen of england and a bow to the King of Saudi Arabia? are you joking? I was hoping that it didn't need to be said because it is obvious but electing a president in itself doesn't say anything about those who didn't vote for him (many of whom showed what they thought of a black president during the campaign) and "happen" to use a significant part of the national media to foment protests also fueled by racism.
-
And how is the American textile industry doing these days? err... it's dead because working for $2 per day didn't make any sense?
-
If it were true right wing extremists like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, etc ... wouldn't set the republican agenda every day in the media. [video:youtube]MTFUSeLj0u8

Here you go Seagal: you can not disagree with Obama w/o being a racist. For "illustrative purposes" J_B uses the term "boy from the hood". Who has EVER used that term in cc.com? FW? Me? T_rutl? Peter Puget? None of us hhas. It's a bullshit fabrication from J_B's twisted libtard mind - par for the course from him. quit lying. I didn't imply you used that terminology but loosely interpreted the tea-party signs I posted above. On the other hand, your continued denial that racism has been extensively used by retard radio/cable is very suspect.
-
This is the tactic of your liberal friends: ignore any legitimate debate, call your opponent a racist, and refuse to acknowledge that a difference of opinon NOT based on race is legimate. J_B just did it today - you can not disagree with his position without being a racist, "talking code". I have no doubt whatsoever that listing first a perceived affront to the queen of england (wtf?), then Obama's supposed love for latin american left wingers and middle east muslims is done pusposefully to incite racism within the conservative base bullshit. serenity didn't write that crap ( I got ~300 google hits of his post, verbatim)and my criticism wasn't necessarily directed at him except for posting the stuff here (although I am guessing he is one of the poster who held racist rhetoric [anti-arab] when he posted under a different handle)
-
No kidding, which explains my earlier question about KKK ... It's common knowledge that fear mongering about "the boy from the hood now in control of the white house" has been method number one to rally the faithful.
-
if you think that your gratuitous accusations are going to prevent us from lampooning the average racist tea-bagger, you have got something coming.
-
Bullshit. We aren't talking about people merely "mentioning" race. The typical racist libtard on this forum repeatedly drops racial slurs left and right - and it sure comes easy for him. The typical racist on this board sees everything in terms of race and constantly tries to interject race into every political topic, accusing the "other" side of being racist while simultaneously being the one who interjected race into the conversation in the first place. And by "interjection" I mean saying shit like "angry white men hate brown people". Read any post by that dip-shit No 13 for a perfect illustration. it's not because wingnuts have learned to use coded messages to appeal to their racist base that we'll let you off the hook. Capisce?

BS, ACORN didn't promote either prostitution or voter fraud. anyway what would conservatives do if prostitutes didn't exist?
-
COnsidering it was advertised for months on FOX prior to the march, a few 10,000s people isn't really a success.
-
and one more News Corp media (FOX, WSJ, NYPost, etc ..) beats the anti-ACORN drum. They sure don't like it when organizations like ACORN work toward increasing the minority vote. btw it wasn't "widespread voter fraud" but a few voter registration workers (you know the peons paid by the number of registrations they turn in) faked some registrations to earn more money. Since then FOX hasn't stopped beating the drums against ACORN, yet they haven't talked at all (?) about caging lists and other underhanded tactics used by the GOP to deny the vote to low income/minority folks.

Kathy and hope? but I am not sure it is known for certain that it was due to an avalanche. It was a warm day and there was a little fresh snow: http://www.alpenglow.org/themes/subalpine/hope-kathy.html (a reprint on Lowell's site)

is KKK really a moron or does he act like one when the stupidity and deviousness of right wing propaganda is exposed?
-
Of course, it is abundantly clear that much wingnut propaganda about Obama these days plays on the racism of their readers. It's all about the white outrage.
