So Unibomber was not a terrorist? or john brown (executed this day 156 years ago and specifically called terrorist throughout the south)?
-
dead is dead - the reason a man murders you doesn't much matter once it's come to that hard to see how terrorists would think hitting a target like this would unhinge people - seems more likely it's some sorta work-place or inter-personal bullshit - or simply just dipshits being crazy and angry, which is really very much at the root of everything like this, no?

just another day in Murder'n'Merica!!!

a fixed line down the dutchman for soloing is a nice idea, but would need to be fixed at the bottom too if you didn't want it to end up in a bad, bad place i got in several good solos last decemeber/january i recall - it'd be nice to manage a few more and it sounds like the hiking trail will be screwed until spring at least...

worse than this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Baghdad_(1258) or this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Ma%27arra or this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran%E2%80%93Iraq_War or maybe this (great math problem attached) ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Masada i believe the talking heads did a song about this neck of the woods: [video:youtube]

jefferson ain't no mountain to sneer at "wise sir, do not grieve it is always better to avenge dear ones than to indulge in mourning for every one of us living in this world means waiting for our end let he who can achieve glory before death when a warrior is gone that will be his best and only bulwark"

nothing "fixes" a problem like a "final solution" - amirite?!? france didn't want romans around, but the romans came anyhow - then they didn't want the damn bosche in the neighborhood but then they came and went and france was still france - likewise the brits and yes, the saracens - history is a stew - throw some shit into the body-politic, stir, repeat.

you're saying the chinamen are?

so no muslim peoples in the history of forever has ever gotten along w/ another people, and not without good reason? what nation, most especially including our own, hasn't spoken of peace while supporting war? hypocrisy is a distinct characteristic of the hairless monkey

binge-drinking n' chain-smoking's never failed me -
i've gotten drunk w/ a number of muslims - they're just as capable as honoring their father's faith more in the breach than the observance - and all revolutions have come to naught(y) between french girls' thighs

if you're an atheist, can you really call anything evil w/o a touch of irony? all we got is double-plus un-good

france has nominally been a catholic nation for centuries, yet what's more french than not particularly giving a shit about your supposed faith? how catholic is france really? so she may be nominally muslim in the future, who cares so long as the wine and cheese sticks around? you didn't answer the important question: how does saying "islam is the problem" help in any constructive way? the french have tried mass killing and persecution of supposed undesirable populations countless times in the past - how'd they go?
-
it's been 20 years since i took my history of islam class but i seem to recall the caliphate concept disappeared within a century or so of muhammad's death - it's periodic re-invention since then was generally the product of zealots like those of isis-fame that said, the history of the first caliphate i recollect was actually extremely moderate in terms of imposing its beliefs on non-arabs - "people of the book" aka christians and jews were protected, and anyone in conquered lands could practice their chosen faith, albeit being required to pay a higher tax

arguably the best sar in the world is in yosemite, yet they don't ban climbing when conditions are too poor for sar to respond beacon climbers should have no expectation of sar bailing them out (nor have they, historically) - it's nice there's a local sar that's willing to help when it can, but it's unwillingness to be around on any given day shouldn't give them the right to close climbing on those days - at any rate, based on the pictures, the hiking trail looks completely accessible to a sar team - the park closes the hiking trail as soon as it becomes untenable for old ladies w/ walkers - that's fine, i get the reason, but a closure for old ladies shouldn't apply for competent, well-equipped rescue personnel so, am i reading you right bill? heath ain't opening the park for climbing until sar gives a thumb's up? if so, can you provide contact info to get all the folks emailing you to shift their earnest energy to them?

i said literally that a couple posts back bill's gonna share a report here soon - he and adam got to climb the corner yday to suss out the situation - i agreed w/ everything he had to say in it's first draft
