  2. quote: ya, sure, but are you going to be at pub club this week??? But of course!!!
  3. Should we consider going to another place? High Street has been getting REALLY crowded indoors now that the temps have gone down - and there is only one table for more than four people indoors. Part of climbing at the columns before Pub Club is that it's getting darker earlier and earlier. Us working folk can't always cut out of work tearly enough to get a climb in... If you guys wanna hit the Crux beforehand, that's totally cool. As for me, you know how I like climbing gyms... It sounds like attendance will be better this week. No one showed up at NorthBank when I was there last time. However, Randy ended up showing up late and no one was there then either.
  4. quote: anyhow, the sheer amount of wankers with UofO shit flying of their vehicles angered me, and I don't know if I can ever go back there. You think the U of O is bad, try being on the University of Tennesse-Knoxville campus during a gameday. It is a FUCKING nightmare. The stadium holds 107,000 people, so the place turns into a total shitstorm. The home games not only shut down the campus (which in and of itself is HUGE) it shuts down the interstate (for miles a way) and many major thoroughfares in Knoxville. It is hell on earth... 6. quote: What's a stick clip? A stick clip is a tool utilized by pussy climbers to avoid a *potential* groundfall. Often times you can find sportos wielding these "wanker" sticks when climbing at prominent sport climbing areas like Smith Rock. quote: unfortunatly it is not one of those desk type internet acess jobs... when I actualy start working, I will be cut off my wanton cc.com days are numbered Wow, congratulations on the job!!! Where are you working??? Did Texplorita draft you into working at the snaffle farm? That wouldn't be too bad (aside from shoveling snaffle shit all day)... If the snaffle job does not work out, you could always get a job stuffing horsecock... [ 10-10-2002, 02:34 PM: Message edited by: bellemontagne ]

Cuz if y'all decided on having it on Wed. night this summer, I might not ever get to come cuz I will be in class 'till 1830 Maybe we can change the day or did you write it in blood? 13. I guess the saying is true... Two things come from Texas: Steers and Queers... And, I don't think Texplorita (FKA Texplorer) ever had horns... Yeeeaaahhh... Congratulations on finally finding your true identity... I'm sure you'll fit in fine here in Eugene. The manly womyn will be knocking on your door for some good 'ole Texas horsecock anytime now...
  14. That was a kick ass picture! And yes, flying is statistically VERY safe. Me, I'm bad enough at driving cars, so the last thing I need to be doing is flying a plane. Back in my Civil Air Patrol days I was too involved with ground SAR (finding downed aircraft) and less interested in flying. I was a little to aware of the consequences. Interestingly, one of my best friends who is a VERY AGGRESSIVE driver (who was involved in several accidents that totaled the car) is now a KC-135 (Boeing 707) pilot for the Tennessee ANG. I'm sure he flies his plane a little more conservatively than he drives his car.
  15. I ended up purchasing a Mountain Surf Sympatex touring Parka. What sealed the deal for me was its ease to get on and off, fit, and price (I was able to get it 20% off). I have used it on two trips, and I was very pleased. The conditions were warmish, so I sweat more than I would have in cooler conditions. All in all I am very pleased. The Kokatat TecTour Parka is a nice jacket, but simply wasn't for me. It runs a little small for its size and does not have enough room for layering. The wrist gaskets are way too F*CKING tight and do not loosen up. It was also a BEAR to get on and off. The Kokatat rep did mention that people notice XCR Gore-Tex is noticeably more breathable than previous versions. I've also heard from others that XCR isn't noticeably more breathable. Who knows? It would be nice if Gore had technical performance specifics on their membrane just like Sympatex does.
  16. It looks like we will be having a meeting of the "Fat Boys" climbing club this Sunday the 22nd at Flagstone. If you need or ride or are interested, e-mail me. Participation is not limited to fat boys only!! Fat, thin, boy, or girl, you are more than welcome to attend. The one rule is that we will not be climbing anything harder than 5.9!!!

  18. It's time for Eugene's Pub Club this Wednesday the 18th. See ya at the columns... Jeez, I almost forgot about Pub Club...
  19. Well, if trask can get the lawgoddess a sweet alpine setup, then I am sure his dreams will come true...
  20. Ask and ye shall receive... A "supportive" use for duct tape...
  21. My rigid friend is available for rent. It's a helluva lot more expensive than $10, plus it's a little choosey...
  22. It's Eugene Pub Club time again. Tomorrow - 6:30 at the columns... See ya there
  23. Thanks for the advice Gary... I am really interested if anyone has firsthand experience with the new XCR membrane as well as Sympatex. It would be great to know just how breathable Sympatex is compared to XCR, and just how breathable the XCR is over the older Gore-Tex membrane. Unfortunately, paddling jackets do not have pit zips, so membrane breathablity is pretty important.
  24. I'm buying a paddling jacket, and I have another option besides Gore-Tex. So, has anyone had any experience with Sympatex??? How breathable/waterproof is it compared to the traditional Gore-Tex and the new Gore- Tex XCR (Extended Comfort Range)? Additionally, has anyone noticed XCR jackets being more breathable than the previous version of Gore-Tex (found in garments with Paclite, For Extreme Wet Weather, and Guaranteed to keep you dry labels)? It is said the membrane is anywhere from 10-40% more breathable depending on the level of activity; however, I am curious to hear people's real world experiences. I am probably going with the XCR jacket, but I am curious to heat what people have to say about Sympatex and if XCR truly is more breathable. Thanks again for the advice kids!!!!
  25. Hmmm... I know who could portray me... Why none other than world famous lifeguard Notch Johnson Hmmm. I know who could play Allison... No, not Demi Moore, but the mayor of Malibu Adjacent - Anita Massengill.
