  1. I'd hardly call the situation "not relevant", since it shows our propensity for egregious action, regardless of administration. Bush should be tried, but what are the mechanisms that engage us in these types of behaviours? Today's News: "Latest Developments Reuters Photo NATO Sees Specter of Ethnic Cleansing (Reuters) - NATO troops raided apartment blocks in a flashpoint Kosovo town on Friday after two days of mass violence the alliance said verged on "ethnic cleansing" of Serbs by majority Albanians. Almost 1,000 Serbs have fled their homes and sought the protection of NATO-led peacekeepers stationed in the province after riots, gunfire and arson attacks on Serb churches and villages...."
  2. But you know what's just as bad in both situations? A cowed congress unable or unwilling to stem the tide.
  3. I think there's plenty of rock there to make it into a V10.
  4. and then there's the whole question about chalk and shit....
  5. the latter.
  6. I believe both Bush AND Clinton should be tried for war crimes and genocide; both have behaved atrociously.
  7. context can improve one's insight. BTW, Clinton's Iraq policies led to way more deaths than this war has led to so far; interesting little tidbit, in my opinion.
  8. What do you mean? I have 1500 posts exactly.
  9. People (nations) have a tendency to jump on the winning (powerful) team, and in the process, overlook moral and ethical considerations.
  10. Albright seemed to me a rigid facsimile of a human being. Her diatribes were an outright embarrassment. And scott hits it straight-up, in that there was (is) way more to the serbia/kosovo scene than most of us came to see.
  11. true dat. good advice, cuz i get a lot of joy in sharing what i do, and i haven't been doing that lately. but i've also been a bit injured lately, so that might be at least a part of it there, although I go through these moments sans injury too, so.... but thanks for the input!
  12. it might be lame, but it certainly is safe, as evidenced by the helmet in photo #3.

  14. or allow it to sing its own tunes, and trust in the process....
  15. Well i kinda suck, but i'm pretty good too, so i don't know.... maybe you inadvertently make a good point though, that i've somehow begun to think of climbing only in terms of improvement, which seems to often sap my psych and inspiration. ahh yes, return to movement, apart from "accomplishment". That might be one thing.... I don't know what to say about the work thing.... but no, my heart hasn't been singing enough lately! Maybe it's time to teach it some new tunes....
  16. hey i didn't say not to snipe at republicans, although i hope for something more substantive than sniping. What i was speaking of was the tendency to villify one's opposition, whilst making excuses for the behaviour of one's ally.
  17. Any ideas on why this may be?
  18. hell yeah clinton had much to gain. wake up people and cease with the partisan sniping. Both parties are deserving of critical analysis, not just Republicans.
  19. summer sausage?
  20. thanks yo. back for my quarterly rant session!
  21. You're one casualty I wouldn't shed any tears over in a "terrorist" attack. Actually, I take that back; your ignorance must be forgiven, since it's of the most pitiable kind.
  22. Ah, ya got me. I'm so unworthy. No klenke, not unworthy; I simply implied you were a fool. There is a distinction.
  23. Was he speaking of current US foreign policy, or something else entirely?
  24. And as far as punctuation, capitalization, etc.: Perhaps your supercilious eye could turn itself inward for a moment, and note what a fool it makes you look like.
  25. Certainly better to be a clone of jb than a clone of summer sausage.
