My opinion of Islam is right up there with that which I hold for communism. Fucked up bullshit. I still don't buy the whole "religion of peace" crap either. Tacitly approving masses, IMO. As always, a 4.0 will require me to properly evaluate the professor's ability to improperly interpret my subtle jabs.

Taking a 400-level course entitled "Islam" this summer quarter--taught by a professor who is a secular Turk, I'm told. Should be interesting.

Prole might want to take a look at Germany's recent election results. I believe Merkel's CD party continues to do well with their tax-cut platform. And, of course, we're all supposed to accept his Koolaid proposition that quality of life is superior in the states he listed. I doubt he knows much about them at all.

Maybe I should have bee a little more clear: If you are detained, stopped, pulled over for observed illegal behavior and are subsequently determined to be here illegally, you should be deported. I also agree that indefinite detention is unconstitutional, but are you seriously suggesting we hold a deportation trial for every illegal here? Habeas Corpus doesn't apply if the offender is simply deported (aka, released.).

If you'd read any Abbey you would know exactly what I mean. Give it a shot. As for the rest, well, nation-states have a right to control their borders. If the feds (read: Dems) are derelict, then the states have that right. It seems like a no-brainer--which may explain why you're having such a difficult time with the concept.
