  2. Someone's been reading Mother Jones again. Steyer. Bloomberg. Soros. No dark money here! Here Twenty-six of the top 100 disclosing donors in America are billionaires. Democrats have gotten more money from Steyer and Bloomberg than Republicans have gotten from all 26 billionaires combined. In total, top-donating billionaires have already given $40.5 million to Democrats and $18.2 million to Republicans. Republican stalwarts David and Charles Koch run Koch Industries, the nation’s second-largest private company and its 36th-largest donating organization this election cycle. Koch Industries and its employees have disclosed donations of $2.6 million so far, but that figure may underestimate the actual donations from the Kochs, who have famously given millions in dark-money to Republicans in recent election cycles.
  3. OK, I'll put you down in the "Fuck it, let the billionaires run this country" column. Not at all. Put me down in the "People who Think Liberal Populists Don't Have a Fucking Clue" column. Here are contributors to the 2014 election cycle--note that Koch is far, far below Bloomberg and assorted public employee unions on the list. Also note that eight of the top 10 contributors give to Democrats. The more you know... http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/list.php?cycle=2014
  4. But I'll admit, I didn't realize Keystone had it's own extra large legislature.
  5. Is it the executive action per se that you don't like? Or the content of the executive action? Presidents issue executive orders all the time--but not like this. Obama does not have this kind of authority under the Constitution. Of course, if Congress does nothing... I have no doubt the courts will step in here to an even greater degree than they already have. It's shocking that Obama even thinks he can do this.
  6. One thing is clear from your post: populist messages sell--and one need not think any deeper than the thickness of an average bumper sticker.
  7. I think you're a little too sensitive? As for Obama's love for country n' Giuliani & all, well, generally speaking, one does not seek to "fundamentally transform" the object of one's affection. E.g., "I love you, but I want to fundamentally change who you are." No, I don't think Obama loves America. His executive action re immigration, at the very least, demonstrates his contempt for the nation state generally.
  8. Don't really see where the cartoon critiques the right at all, in fact. I'm sure you could come up with a similar paste with a 180 view. I don't really give a shit about patriotism per se. I think Snowden is a fucking hero. (Except for the hidin' out in Russia part.) Still: stereotype NOUN a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing: "the stereotype of the woman as the carer" synonyms: standard/conventional image · received idea · cliché ·
  9. Anyhow, here's the libtard of the week. Sounds like she set up a private friggin' email server in her house to handle her official communications as SOS. More contempt from the "most transparent administration in history."
  10. I have no idea. He was, then he wasn't? He wasn't, then he was? Don't really get your line here. Anyhow, here is the definition: patriot [pey-tree-uh t, -ot or, esp. British, pa-tree-uh t] noun 1. a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion. 2. a person who regards himself or herself as a defender, especially of individual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government. 3. (initial capital letter) Military. a U.S. Army antiaircraft missile with a range of 37 miles (60 km) and a 200-pound (90 kg) warhead, launched from a tracked vehicle with radar and computer guidance and fire control.
  11. Nutjobs are not a new thang--on either side of das politik. Civilian or military.
  12. It's always fun to see the resident libtard megalomaniac using Ivan's login.
  13. A Higher Call, by Adam Makos. True story of a WWII German fighter pilot who let a badly damaged B-17 and its surviving American crew live despite having them dead to rites as they struggled back out over the German coast toward England. Basically, couldn't bring himself to kill the remaining crew in a plane that was a sitting duck--kind of a code of honor among aviators. The surviving crew lived to return and drop bombs for several more missions over Germany, so there are some philosophical questions involved. Told from both sides--the two pilots met face to face more than fifty years later. A really great story.
  14. Take everything NOCA and ALPS are saying about this proposal and simply add the words "for now" at the end of each sentence. NPS promises were made to the people of Stehekin in 1968. They've all been broken.
  15. Good point regarding usage in this non-wilderness area. Drones buzzing around anywhere are a difficult issue to sort out. First off, why are they even called drones? Are they autonomous(yet)? Until then, they're just toys. Got a motor-drive on your SLR? Bound to annoy Harvey's ghost if he hears it. Anyhow, I'm not sure why these gadgets raise such hackles--for now, anyhow. Still, I can see a day when the big-hat tools at a place like NCNP use and/or are replaced with autonomous ranger drones , ya know, to make sure the peeps aren't hiking without a permit n' all. Luke, you should have left the video up. I enjoyed it.
  16. Au contraire https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-scientific-fundamentalist/201003/why-liberals-are-more-intelligent-conservatives Wow, this is a real eye opener. Nothing like an IQ test administered by soft scientists to boost a libtards' sense of self worth--and boil away all the individual gifts a child possesses. Please, AlpineK, do tell me these youngsters had their skulls properly measured!
  17. Mostly the libtards who aren't vaccinating their brood nowadays. But, AK, speaking of vaccinations, I'd certainly want want a booster shot if I sat on your couch. You recently posted one of the few photos I could actually smell. 18. Well, if it's been reported in inhabit.com, then we know it must be a true and unbiased account. Given the EPA's penchant for imposing it's undemocratic/administrative power at will, it's refreshing to see them brought to heel from time to time.
  19. Both taken early September. Hope this helps. On South Cascade Glacier: On LeConte Glacier:
  20. Not sure how much thought old JD put into that one--or how CSA theory differed from 1787 intent. Are any alternative theories to the status quo of today palatable? No.
