  1. Oregonians are OK...maybe work on your driving a bit... I'm talking about this gentleman's emergency supplies. He could have eaten them in a pinch I suppose.....WAHHHH
  2. Let's see...who can I offend? Nevermind...this one is too easy
  3. I'm up for a winter Rainier climb from Paradise (gib ledges/chute). If anyone needs an extra as the windows open, let me know. Thanks, Doug
  4. Nice work and report bro...and I mean bro Me, bro and a buddy from sweden did a 3 passes (grand, cameron, lost) traverse >15 years ago from obstruction point to dosewallips, but did it over several days with a bunch of crap on our backs. Bro, hopefully you and James will invite me on a baily range marathon traverse next year..hint...hint...I like the high stuff. See you Wednesday. Bro
  5. not sure about snow conditions now, but when I was up there several weeks ago, we were overrun by mice at the lowest highcamp on the hogback (the one with a nice big rockwall...aka mouse hotel). I would make for one of the upper designated sites if you plan to stay there. Waking up to several meece trying to get in our packs and one in my bivy bag made for a lame night's sleep. I probably lugged several of them to the summit the next day, but at least we all made it up and down safely
  6. was up at cold springs Wed (8/8) and found a camera with pics from a climb 8/3 - 8/4. We'll leave notice with the trout lake ranger station, but you can p.m. me and we can discuss ransom ...or a way to return it to its owner
  7. Rob, Did you find any more partners for Jun11-15? I'm still up for it if you are. Sounds like we might make a good team. Do you anticipate using the whole block of days (DC is usually a 2-3 day event), or just look for the best weather window within the time period. Midweek, we should be able to make it easy on ourselves and stay in the shelter at muir. I'm interested because I have a buddy coming in August to do Kautz on Rainier, and I'd like a training run. Let me know. Thanks, Doug
  8. I may have created some confusion: - I'm not 5'10" (5'7") - I didn't climb 5.10 rock on Rainier I'm 5 summits out of 10 attempts on Rainier...indicating ability to get to the top and willingness to turn around as needs be

  10. I might be interested also. Please let me know if you're needing another rope-mate...I'm 5-10 on Rainier and am looking for a training climb.
  11. What route are you considering on Rainier? I might be interested. I've done DC/ID/Kautz. I'd do the Kautz again, or something a bit more interesting (mowich, sunset, etc...)
  12. I'm thinking of heading up Sunday 1/28 morning for a 1day shot...what route are you interested in?

  14. Kautz in July would be nice...I've done it before, but I'd like to add a night on the summit...pm if interested
  15. Was that Sunday morning 01/19? I think I saw you guys at that time backing down off the ridge amongst some exciting sounding ice/rock fall (definately below 12-c). The Leuthold hourglass is narrow, but pretty obvious...to the sober climber...I had no problem
  16. Looking for someone(s) to keep me from having to solo the sunshine route next week (Tue-Fri...one day push or overnight). Any interest...PM or email to dperler@hotmail.com. Thanks, Doug
  17. also...tried to get up onto cathedral ridge for the fun of it...crevasses worked us towards the Coe and then we hit alot of black ice...didn't have the time or screws to continue...I've done sunshine in August, but it's much more technical and broken up in fall...with a much earlier start it would have been cool!
  18. Was up above snowdome a couple weekends ago checking out the dream route (North Face) approach and taking some recon photos (the pics referenced from the yocum ridge posting blow my photos away!). From the side it looks quite doable (not like the ominous straight on view). The first rockband seems to be the steepest part. Come on snow level...get down! Damn global warming!
  19. February - March 2002 Tilly Jane ski trail friday after work. Friday night at Tilly jane campground (or shelter on lower cooper spur if possible). north face up - cooper spur down (saturday or sunday). No big Woop. Shoot me a note if interested. Climbing experience a plus!
