10.5 will work for anything. 60 meter is very useful and necessary in a lot of places. Dont cut the budget when buying gear you will regret it in the future (meaning get the 60m). If you cannot find a rope then how did you find this site Nuf said.

Just in from Lyle:**************************************************The Lillooet Ice Climbing Festival The Fest is a GO for 2002 and will be directed by Team Lillooet, a local business/ tourism advocacy group. I've willing passed along the event to the group, and particularly Paul Malkinson (Melvin's on Main Guesthouse). They're keen to build on the 2001 event and have my full support. The event is scheduled for January 18th to the 20th, 2002, and all information can be gleaned from Paul at TeamLillooet@lillonet.org. It's my understanding they will have a website soon. I hope to help Paul and Team Lillooet where I can, esp. in regards to contacts. However, I'm more inclined to climb that weekend, maybe take a clinic and relax this year. Please don't hesitate to contact Paul if you've got an idea/ proposal/ sponsorship/ donation for the 2002 event! Damn them butt sniffin' dirt hounds I like dogs a lot. Some are obviously more easy to control than others. Those ones are ok at the crags for me. I even like Sisu Suomi's pit bull. Even though it chewed through a tree it was anchored to while we climbed up some choss this spring. It also has a bowling ball with a rope attached for a toy out in his back yard. I tell you that thing has energy! It constantly jumps up and slaps you in the face with it's tongue. Hahahha. For some people that is too much and I understand. The only bad thing about this dog is that it thinks everyone loves it so it's always beggin for attention. Most people being scared of pits well you can guess the rest...

I proposed it for November 6.. There. I cannot make it next week. The brew house there is pretty cool and has lots of different beers.

I have never been nor do I plan to move as high or higher than 20000 feet. Therefore I dont know what could have been done by Krakauer. I read his book and thought that there was some evidence that he was not exaclty helping though. You can call him all you want but you were not there so what do you know?
