  4. This is not a troll. You silly guys.
  5. In a month ask a Boeing Machinist how great his union is! Talk about leading the lambs to the slaughter. ANother example of unions scrwing their membership was lumbermill unions. They should have been actively advocating a reduced workforce wand retraining for their members but since that would reduce the number sin the union and require forward looking thinking they screwed their membership.
  6. Allison pleae stop picking on Greg!
  7. Read it somewhere recently If I can fish out the reference I will.
  8. Matt - Have you climbed on those cliffs uphill from Peanacle Point? How accurate do you think the ratings are?

I think that most of those earning minum wage desire to work less than full time. Ansd I believe that is the case throughout US Canada and Western Europe. Fence sitter isn't $10/hr for one year at 50hrs/week closer to $26K? PP
  10. I have heard this crag is reached by continuing up the Mt Washington trail past the turnoff to Bob's/Steel Fingers areas for about 5 minutes until a side trail is reached that leads to the crag. Runoured to be the largest crag in the area. Has anyone been there and if you have spill the beans!
  11. Erik - Your weekend rocked compared to mine! I didn't even leave the city due to the rainy forecast but I did walk around Discovery Park. Loose rock! Glad I am not belaying. But your post did get me thinking…. …..perhaps the rise in sport climbing is due to all those guys and gals with new tatoos not wanting to scrape them up wrestling with a wide crack!
  12. DRU - Exactly what happens to a "rich" person's money when it is saved?

(NWOG.org) wanker wanker wanker Like I said: wank-teryx. I really liked the Sabre TR. "Make sure to bring radios." And the rating system. Its got a lot of bolts and it's easy to top-rope. I give it an "8", pee pee. wanker wanker wanker Let the people decide for themselves! Sabre TR Gotta be honest - I'd love to see Cavey's Lichtenberg route done up in that format if not quite the same style. Or actually any of a dozen TRs that have appeared on this site. I just might write up a report of Cavey's route if it doesn't rain Sunday. PP [ 09-06-2002, 11:40 AM: Message edited by: Peter Puget ]
  18. Erik - Marketing? How have they advertised this free day. Its not even a big thing on their home page. Seems more likely that a few people coming in on that day would have been told "no charge today" in rememberance of 9/11. In that context it seems like a nice thought. All this marketing hype stuff is just BS.
  19. Darn the risk level is what I was wondering about. It sounds like a fun route! I say a trip next June is in order! Maybe I'll post aquery on the Supertopo site. And since we are chatting about Yosemite don't forget the Cathedral Apron. A bit steeper than the GP Apron but some good smears noentheless! Scary too!
  20. The fourth regeneration of the Doctor. The good renegade Time Lord.( as opposed to The Master) Check out the site!
  21. Gotta call BS on this one Sexy. Rich has contributed much to the local community. In the form of discounts and direct contributions, encouragement - including to ole Petey here himself.I have nothing against the Stone Gardens but the fond feelings I have toward Rich and the VC for service to the community and caring about climbing and people keeps me loyal to his venture. So go to the cheaper club. Personally as a long time VW member I like the fact that the rate is high enough to discourage daily drops ins that do not provide consistent cash flow and cause over crowding at peak times. Rich is definitely thinking of his membership! Whatever your personal beef with Rich you should know that others have the opposite experience. PP
  22. Hey guys do you think that the VW is big business? That Rich and any other investors are sitting back and getting rich off undeserved income? Rich and any investors took a big risk in starting the VC all those years ago and have made a beneficial contribution to NW climbing. I know Rich has spent countless hours turning it into a success. There is no way this free day will earn the VW a windfall profit. It may even end up costing them a tad bit. To say something is a bit unseemly and to say that the motivations behind it are nothing more than crass commercialism are two completely different things. I say both Rich and the VW I have spent hours there as have many climbers (both trad and sport and some that only climb indoors!) It is a great place to meet new friends and hang out with old ones. Sometimes it's crowded and at those times I just turn around and leave but at 6am there is no better place to get a climbing workout in January!
  23. The 9/11 thing does seem a bit unseemly. But SC just how does $15/day make Rich rich? Please expose his motivations to the masses.
  24. You're correct all shows are crap ...compared to the Anna Nicole Show! Just read these reviews - "Sheer genius" - Vincent Canby NYT, "If she was named Mickey the show would be purrfect" - Dwayner, If you've one once of weakness, Anna will find it" - Pope "A day without Anna is like a day without sunshine" - Anita Bryant "I am a believer" - Off White PP [ 09-05-2002, 02:25 PM: Message edited by: Peter Puget ]
