i'll second that. if you're going to stay in a campground, that's the best bet. i still wouldn't leave gear hanging around, though. i tend to carry mine with me almost every time i go climbing, even if i don't need it.

he's also better looking. and younger.

stop skiing on the weekends; it's not crowded during the week.

okay, y'all - i'm definitely going to hit this place up. thanks for all of the info and suggestions!!! minx, check your pm's ... and come!
-
okay, i've had a few of you suggest this spot to me. i'm thinking of hitting it up on my way to yos. i don't have a guidebook and have only found some limited info on the web, so i'm asking those of you who know what the scoop is. (if you want to share. ) what "must" be climbed? where's best to camp (for free)? is it easy to hook up with partners there? anything else? t-i-a!

ick. i think if the smell is not all gone; it can't be that clean!

friday through sunday: walked around for hours, looking at gear and collecting bits of schwag. friday night: watched a new climbing movie and consequently drooled my red bull and vodka all over myself during the spectacular footage of david graham leading some 14d. then drank more red bull and vodka ... 'til they ran out of vodka. then drank beer ... 'til the fire alarm went off and we were told to evacuate the building. saturday: got up after 3 hours of sleep and went to do the wasatch wobble 5k fun run. took off at a heftier pace than usual and quickly realized i was not at sea level anymore. the course was a bitch if there ever was one -- first time i've ever had to walk part of a 5k. usually hills are my strong point and where i get to pass people but i was just one of many walking a particularly brutal one! saturday night: went the finals of the pca bouldering comp. saw sharma climb in person for my first time ever. dude got 2nd place, to the suprise of many. honestly, i love the guy, but he definitely didn't didn't climb well. nels rosaasen kicked ass, busting out with an awesome flash of the final problem 4. it was SICK!!! it was also very cool to see the chicks crank! saturday night: went to the comp afterparty. it was very cool to see so many climbers (famous and not) in one place. sunday: spent way too much money at the prana booth. and i only bought 4 things! the only climbing i got to do was pulling on some plastic in the testarossa's when lynn hill was demo'ing them. but now that the show's over, i'm out to find some real rocks!

that seems like a strange place for a thief to try to sell something like that. nice work on picking it up, though.

i think you should find another eric or erik or two and line your van with shaggy carpet and lava lamps. -
geez, this thread sure turned sour. i didn't think she looked so tired. she looked the same as i saw her last summer. except this time i actually got to see her pulling down on some plastic!

i thought you were going to be there in september. i might be talked into staying. -
oops; thanks for the correction. autoroute sounds more european, i guess. i knew it was something with "auto". anyway, i did see the veggie jerky and sausage but it didn't really blow me away. i've seen lots of meatless meat products in my lifetime. and i like meat! i was more impressed with the frying pan bread. i got some of that for camp 4 - mmm. and yeah, the bouldering comp afterparty last night was definitely fun! awesome setting, too. oh ... wtf do canoes have to do with climbing?

i'll be there ... unless i can't bring myself to leave the valley yet. looking forward to seeing some chickenheads! -
they always have eye candy at their booth. they even leashed ME last year! personally, though, i prefer the eye candy at the other end of the hall ... guys, gals, and gear included. i haven't seen much new stuff this year. i mean, there's lots of "new" stuff, but nothing really that different or innovative. of course, i'm not looking *that* hard. i'm mostly just here to have fun. speaking of toys, though, you totally forgot to mention tori allen's new huck doll action figurine, complete with little monkey to hang from her harness. also, the new climbing video, "autodrive," premiered last night. unfortunately the acoustics left way too much to be desired and it was like watching a foreign film -- WITHOUT the subtitles. but some of the photography was spectacular. i almost felt like i was david graham doing that 14d. okay, well, not quite that good, but anyway.

that's the only reason i run. so people will think i'm amazing.
