  2. there was an article by Jeff Jackson in Climbing mag about 4-5 years ago. or you could google "guadalajara climbing" and see what you get
  3. hint hint Amboy hint hint
  4. 1) Use the down soap. 2) Front loader ONLY 3) Do several rinse cycles to help get all the soap residue out 4) You have to have some sort of agitator to prevent the wet down from clumping as it dries. The tennis ball is the best bet as it is soft and round. Using a harder object like a wooden spoon or an old shoe can do damage to the seamsof your bag as it stresses the down underneath especially if it sneaks into the bag and thrashes around in there. 5) It's even better to hand wash it in the bathtub instead of using a front loader, but it takes longer
  5. I got hit in the windshield by a flying chunk of truck tire last week. It's true what they say, highway driving IS more dangerous than climbing.
  6. Actually it works the opposite to how FW's post describes it. The ones killed off by lead based paint, go-cart crashes etc. are not around any more. Thus the overall life expectancy was reduced. Not to 35 though. But you old people () are the exceptions to the rule. Just like if you look at centenarians, they survived more or less randomly, not because of anything they did or didn't do. The official debunking of FW's post can be found on snopes.com as usual.
  7. Fuck J Tree Climb for free in the Granite Mountains You heard that right, (am)Boyeee!
  8. "Fixed screws" or a series of rappel-placed abalakovs. C'mon be ingenious! In fact you could just pre-place 3 dozen leashless tools and just yard up a tool ladder!
  9. That's like 8 months old.
  10. Oh well I have to reread the Economist then they just had an article about it a few weeks ago.
  11. I think what Scott is trying to say is that he suffered a torn this summer when his b/f got a bit rough.

  14. Such a great photo of trees and bushes. Too bad about the climber hidden behind them.
  15. Are you suggesting that Bertulis owns the rights to the film?
  16. It's easy to increase accuracy during hand recounts - use more counters . Bayesian statistics. The individual errors will be random around the true value and cancel each other out.
  17. That was only true of certain types of desert sandstone and certain old shitty 1/4" bolts. The ASCA sure isn't doing anchor replacement at Indian Creek using drilled angles!
  18. "hold my beer and watch this, baby!"
  19. It's about consent. Did Surdel know or consent to Bertulis showing his film? You can't pull shit like this and not have the consent of the creator.
