I saw that Nat Geo article. It was by Junk Krakhore wasn't it? He should have called it Into Thin Ice. Then Anatoli Boukreev could have hired a ghostwriter to wtrite a 50 000 word rebuttal...
  5. What are you doing with his foul little testes in your mouth??
  6. "Ooops I did her again."

  8. silvertip. you see hozomeen, jack, spickards, slesse group, yak area etc from williams peak, summits of baker and slesse line up perfectly. must be more examples of this??

  10. they ain't removed its just spray posts don't show up on the front page. they are still there! you are getting worked over nothing hee hee. it is funny to realize you are throwing a wobbler over a non issue!
  11. Tomyhoi via the snow couloir on the North side (illegal entry from Canada across border) is allegedly a great day out and fastest way up the peak in spring. On my list for next year. A personal obscure favorite is NE ridge of Silvertip - the one in BC not the one in WA. info online on bivouac.com
  12. yeah, in SWBC there was about 6 inches Friday, got another 6 on Sat & now it is melting a bit in the sun.

yeah the ice stops at the canadian border and doesnt go into montana or idaho or anywhere south of the border. just like the glaciers!!
  14. A foot?? Take your full on winter conditions gear. And lots of Landjagermeister for the long bivis.
  15. Is sexual chocolate a boy or a girl? everyone seenms to be assuming boy. Judging by the My Little Pony stuff though, who knows?? Actually I want Hello Kitty stickers to stick on my helmet but that's another topic.

Strickland – As usual you’re tripping over your own words. You failed to mention Leavenworth as your local crag. If you’re not a local then leave your crowbar at home. Cpt.Caveman – I’ve been lurking around here for awhile now. Dru – If your so opposed to fixed anchors then it’s about time you go up on the North Ridge of Stuart and ripped out the rappel below The Great Gendarme. You’d be doing everyone a favor as the pitches on the Gendarme are far better than anything in that choss filled gully. To the rest of you who can’t tell the difference - Castle Rock and Frenchman Coulee are not Mountains. Eric Nice try E_Mohlman. I am pro fixed anchor though. read before you troll dumbass.
  17. I prefer to drink lots of beer!
  18. "He doesn't count because his head is square." Stevie Haston on Robert Jasper. For those of you uncertain on ethnic slurs "squarehead" refers to Jasper's German nationality.
  19. Tacoma? Where the hell is Tacoma?
  20. Pope, I thought you preferred to "release" in your sleeping bag or have you started using your fancy dancy Gore tex fag bag* (one piece suit) as well?? * This term invented by Mike Buda to describe yuppies decked out in their brand new MEC one-piecers heli-skiing at Whistler.

  24. quote: Originally posted by jblakley: What the fu.. This is a joke right? Yeah, its a joke to call me easy! The girls know it takes at LEAST two beers or some rohypnol to get me into bed. Compared to some guys out there that's damn tough.
  25. Right on bolt bickering! I am mostly pro bolt as long as they are not wanky bolts placed next to cracks or so close together you trip over them or in dumb ass spots or too far off the stance to clip or what have you. Unfortunately many of the bolts out there fall in one of those categories. There's nothing worse than a misplaced bolt because it is a waste of rock and metal. As for so called "removable bolts" - yeah whatever. Maybe to lighten the load on wilderness wall routes but expensive to rap off of. I don't think there's any difference between a bolt placed by hand drill or by power drill but think the latter should be kept out of wilderness, just like we try and keep jet skis out of the San Juans so kayakers etc dont get buzzed. Like Warren Hollinger said, "In the real wilderness areas of the planet, like Baffin and the Karakoram, no one is there to care how or where you place a bolt". Its on crags five feet from a road that we should care, but we should be worried about the visual impact of the scrubbed stripe more. As for bolts vs pins at least the pin scar is constructive to clean climbing if done right. Any more quickly thought out incoherent ideas, post em in reply to this...
