Trip: Enchantments - Acid Baby

Date: 7/11/2015

Trip Report:

I wasn't going to post any TR ad there have been plenty of reports to come out. But my buddy Loren and I had such a great time on this route, that I feel compelled to post a little something in acknowledgement to Mike, Rolf and Dan's vision of this route.

The climbing is engaging from start to finish. And as an added pleasant surprise, the 5.10+ rating isn't soft. At least it felt that way to me.

Great pics of an awesome route!

Having done it both ways, the down climb at the finish is much easier on the opposite side (i.e., left side of the fin). Also, if there is no snow, you can easily descend the gully immediately above the finish (i.e., climb up toward the top of the plateau about 50' and then scramble right and down into the gully). There is a ledge system in that gully that takes you directly back to the slabby waterfall area just above the base of the climb. Here are a couple pics:

I may be wrong Aaron but that gulley looks like a pile of crap. And you miss out on this!

And the normal descent deposits you nearly at the top of Asgaard Pass, which is the real reason you climb Acid Baby.

Aaron's got the beta. Easy and quick secret squirrel descent to the base. No up and over, no top of Aasgard, but you do miss out on the frolicking in the meadows on the plateau.
