bobinc Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Depends on the wind, especially in the morning (after you've been in your tent for 12 hrs or so...) But once you're on the south-facing rock, all is well. Quote
catbirdseat Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 I was there for a couple of days over the holidays and it was nice and warm, if you were in the sun. As soon as the sun set, the temperatures dropped like a stone. It was well below freezing at night. Quote
freeclimb9 Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Try in March when the winds blow. It can be sunny, clear skies, and gravel will be abrading your ankles as you get knocked over by the gusts. Chilly. Quote
sayjay Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 i've been to j-tree twice: went in october and got snowed on and went in april and woke up with ice in my water bottle... i'm sure if i were to go there in december i'd end up in a blizzard! Quote
North_by_Northwest Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 I was there a couple days ago and it was t-shirts and shorts all day. Some girls were even climbing in their little spaghetti strap prana tops. Vegas was a little cold though. What'd ya climb down there COL? Quote
COL._Von_Spanker Posted January 9, 2003 Author Posted January 9, 2003 Toe jam, dinky doinks, hands off, the bong, boussonier (SP?), mikes books, gunsmoke. It was cold and f'n windy when I was there. Quote
North_by_Northwest Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 It was kinda cold and windy before New Years (what a drag with all the cops and shit!), but after it got warm. I think it was as hot as 65 or 70, with no wind. We were on Toe Jam, Overhang Bypass, Geronimo (night adventure) Touch and Go, Pope's Crack, Walk on the Wildside, Contiuum, Invisibility Lessons, and some others. Did you send Gunsmoke? I got on the Choob (Tube in some books) at the end of the trip but still couldn't stick the exit. Quote
Charlie Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Quit telling people about what you did on my tube!! And stop lying- Nabisco told me you guys left the day after I did. There's no way you got all those routes done- you were getting drunk in vegas- smoking crack, and having sex with low-rate hookers. Quote
North_by_Northwest Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 We lied about Vegas so you wouldn't feel like you missed out. So how was the Donkey show in TJ Chuck? Did you pick up that switchblade I asked for? Come set trippin that ass is mine. Quote
