slothrop Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 I'm looking for a partner for tomorrow to do something alpine. I've only got one day... maybe Guye Peak? My car sucks on snow, so I'd be happy to throw in gas money for a partner with a reliable winter ride. Call me at (206) 226.3299 if yer interested. Quote
David_Parker Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 So if I call that number, do I ask for "slothrop" or do you have a real name? Quote
David_Parker Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 Slothrop can't go now so anybody want to hit Guye, Chair or Toof on Tuesday or Wed? you can call 206-714-4300. Call quick if you want to go on Tuesday. Quote
Matt Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 Dave, I want to get out Wednesday. Do you really think anything will be good for climbing tomorrow with all the warm temps we've been having? My guess is it's all a wet mess. Anyone go up there yesterday? On the flip side, how's Index? Dry or dripping? Quote
JoshTop Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 I am game for a Wednesday climb. Weather sounds as good as it is going to get! Count me in. pjosh@attbi.com 253-653-2494 Quote
David_Parker Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Shit, I have to look at Friday now. Wed is out. I think its good conditions. Lots of recent moisture and now clear and cold at night. Not that warm during the day up there. All freezes at night. N facing stuff fine. If the skiing sucks, the climbing's good! Anyone up for Friday??? Quote
Minus Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Anyone up for getting out tomorrow give me a pm NOW or try and find me at the Pub Club. Went up to see Pyramid and Colonial, and I reckon it's been too cold for the North Face routes to be reasonable (Diablo Lake has frozen surface), but lower altitude/further west should be pretty good. slothrop Posted January 9, 2003 Author Posted January 9, 2003 Index was pretty dry (and windy) Monday. Princely Ambitions had nothing wet on it except my blood on the second pitch handcrack. There were a few others up there that day, I think erik and wallstein got in some climbing. Quote
Matt Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 It was so warm at Index today that I actually took off my shirt and let my skin see the sun! Bottom of godzilla was wet but doable. Thin Fingers was completely dry. Jap Gardens was mostly dry with a few wet spots that you could step around. Get out there! Index Quote
chucK Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 TEmps at Index. Looking Good! (That Klar guy's got some good photos on his page ) Quote
