Dandelion Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) I was wondering if anyone know how the new water in Tumwater Canyon is effecting the enchantments. We have permits in climb this weekend... but the fire is close. How is the air quality and the chance of the first leaping over to the range? Edited July 17, 2014 by Dandelion Quote
JasonG Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Air quality may stink (depending on wind direction), but you should still be able to get in there if you drive 90 and 97: http://q13fox.com/2014/07/16/500-acre-wildfire-erupts-about-8-miles-northwest-of-leavenworth/#axzz37gQbBZ9r Quote
mhux Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I live 5 miles up the blewitt from town and the smoke is visible, but seems to be more east-west than north-south...considering the enchantments are just west of where I'm at, you'll probably be alright, especially up high. Can't say you'll see much to the north...cheers Quote
mhux Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Scratch that, its pretty windy out and by this weekend things will be bleak...or just hazy. Quote
telemarker Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Yesterday evening from Snow Creek Wall. Seems worse today in Wenatchee. Quote
Sol Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 The Icicle and Stuart Range are actually pretty clear. Fire and smoke is in general to the north of us. Worse in Cashmere and Wenatchee today then in Ltown. Lots of folks in town heading up the Icicle for a reprieve from the smoke. The fam and I will be heading up there later on this afternoon, I can post an update this evening. Quote
Sol Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Clear and a nice reprieve from town in the Icicle. I'd have no qualms about adventures in the Stuart range right now. Quote
