WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Banff Waterfall Ice Guide

Recommended Posts

I just saw these on Amazon and they are for sale between $250 and $500. Are people really paying this??? That's a lot for a book I bought about 8 years ago for $30. Maybe we should start investing in climbing books.

ah the wonders of the market. The Index one was way up there a while back.

Banff: Glad I found a copy. Steve warned me that people are stealing them!

I dont think people are paying that much considering a scanned .pdf is floating around.

With Brent's new select book coming out I bet prices continue to drop.

Note that Brent's book also mentions several climbs in the vicinity of the "selected" one chosen. I got a pre-print copy while in Canmore and can say it has several years' worth of trips to Rockies.

He climbed each one, so we found the info terse but spot on.

There is way more to it though: there are GPS coordinates, there is the whole online counterpart to it, made to be easily scanned. Has the same high usability quality as a Supertopo guide.

We picked up a copy of the select guide in Canmore this week. It's really nice! The photos are absolutely excellent.
