Toast Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 Any of you backcountry patrollers have any current info on MRNP? Is camping permitted at Reflection Lakes yet? Is it a pipe dream to think about skiing yet? I'm Jones'n bad Quote
AlpinistAndrew Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 I was up at MRNP on Wednesday, because I was going to camp at Reflection Lakes and hike up to Pinnacle. However, winter camping is not yet allowed in MRNP, due to the lack of snowfall, you have to camp at designated backcountry camps. Although there's enough snow to not have the stevens canyon road to be open. There was about 2" of snow at longmire and 54" at Paradise. Ranger said it would be a little while longer until they allow winter camping. Quote

Toast Posted December 20, 2002 Author Posted December 20, 2002 Well, my point is they're all pretty shallow with little or no base developed yet. Quote
Dru Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 Whistler and pts. north have 160 cms new and waist deep pow pow. Quote
Crackbolter Posted December 24, 2002 Posted December 24, 2002 Went on Friday. Knee deep 100' above the lakes. Avy conditions were good. Careful skinning up to the road from the parking lot or going back down to the parking lot from the road. The talus field is still ridden with rocks. Have fun, I know I did. Quote
