telemarker Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 (edited) I was standing on top of Castle Rock this evening when it began to jiggle, kinda like jello on a saucer. The tree and rock vibrated for about 10 seconds, and I heard a low hum through Tumwater Canyon. I just checked the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network and sure enough, they registered a 4.3 quake near Lake Wenatchee Wild and weird sensation to feel it moving under my feet. telemarker Posted June 27, 2013 Author Posted June 27, 2013 Of course, it all makes sense if you think about it. SCOTUS just struck down DOMA, and being the staunch heterosexual that He is, I imagine God is pretty pissed off and letting us know about it. Quote
DPS Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I was standing on top of Castle Rock this evening when it began to jiggle, kinda like jello on a saucer. I wondered how Jello Tower got its name. Quote
Pete_H Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Yup that was weird. Windows started rattling and everything. Was wondering if anyone was out climbing. Quote
rob Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I've always worried that there woul be an earthquake while I was climbing and the crack would close up on my hand Quote
Pete_H Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Thats why its always good to climb with a pocket knife. Quote
denalidave Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Thats why its always good to climb with a pocket knife. And plenty of beer... Quote
Cyclopath Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I read a story in ANAM about a guy climbing on Index when a quake struck. He was ok in the end. Probably needed new pants, though. Quote
E-rock Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 The Index story, if I'm thinking of the same one, was during the 2001 Nisqually quake, and the participants are former regulars on CC.com. The story as I heard it from one of the guys involved was that rockfall was coming down all around them. Quote
