Yup, finally gonna get that back hair taken care of.

 

Oh, and I need some backup for the purple stuff - the snow had an affinity for it, yesterday. I used to use maxiglide.

 

Any recommendations?

i've had good luck with glop stopper, but the swix aerosol stuff also seems to be pretty good and goes on more easily, but I would be less inclined to carry it with me because of the pressurized can and bulk. I only tried it because I couldn't find a brick of glop stopper and I was in a rush. BUt, I'm not really sure how different they all are, maybe I just don't get out enough to notice.

Globstopper's what I've been using, but it failed in these particular conditions.

There are times when nothing will stop the glop but hot waxing with whatever cheap universal ski wax you have around works pretty well:

Astroglide. Small and compact, goes on easy in the field, glides like no other.

 

 

 

 

Being serious; I keep a little square of swix base prep wax in my pack and it works fine to rub on when things get gloppy. Either that or the red/yellow CH wax would be fine for the warmer stuff. I usually don't have a bunch of the warmer CH on hand, so I just use base prep most of the time.

 

I find that a light hot wax on the skins goes a long way to fight glopping, especially now in the spring when the temps are rising.

ive been using the nikwax skin proof all season and it does pretty well, and you can apply it on site

BD purple glob stopper, make sure to rub it on dry skins. Only thing you need.
