Off_White Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Doesn't really mean what it used to anymore, does it? I thought this was pretty entertaining. I'd have liked to see him fiddle some tricams into some of those pockets, but I suppose it is a wee bit steep for that kind of shenanigans... [video:youtube]-TeTejh1ebs Quote
kevbone Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Pretty sweet. How come he is not wearing a helmet? Quote
Off_White Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 French Fashion is a different subject I think Quote
kevbone Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 How come most people do not wear helmets when sport climbing? But do when trad climbing? Quote
matt_warfield Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 How come most people do not wear helmets when sport climbing? But do when trad climbing? Overhanging rock is much safer for a 5.13 climber than slabby loose 5.6 for average climbers with or without a helmet. Bolts or trad, most accidents don't happen with climbers like Arnaud. What comes to mind for me was Earl Wiggins doing Supercrack at Indian with hexes. It looks to me like Arnaud had pretty good placements (the thread was suspect) with cams but a splitter in the early days was pretty dicey. Quote
Off_White Posted April 14, 2013 Author Posted April 14, 2013 Naw, I think the point is gear protected ascents of sport routes is news wherever it happens. Quote
keenwesh Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 start a revolution at the quarry! trouble is if anyone actually fell the routes might get quite a bit harder I think MT took WA weather, it's been dark and grey overhere for the last week. I hope opening day went smoothly! Quote
