Slesse ride swap

A friend and I want to climb North buttress of Slesse in the first part of August. We are coming up from CA. Would be nice to team up with another group to arrange a car swap- since I heard the better way out puts you away from the original TH where you start from.

nope. the better way out these days takes you down the crossover pass descent right back to your start point.

buy a cheap bike (or borrow) and stash it at the south side TH for the ride back to the north side, is one option. Flying downhill on logging roads via headlamp is "fun". type 2 fun. maybe even Phun.

isn't the south side closed for some military use or something?

Any idea where I could read a bit more about that? Will be my 1st trip to North Cascades....
