cappellini Posted January 26, 2002 Author Posted January 26, 2002 did he say it really starts to run and break up???? yea thanks chris for abusing what little ice was begining to form...leave it alone till its in or we'll never see anything form Quote
chris_rieman Posted January 26, 2002 Posted January 26, 2002 Went up to Banks yesterday the 24th and played around on The Absent Minded Professor but you have to get up there really early or else around 10:00 or so it really starts to run and break up but it was fun to get on something that resembled ice up there. Early next week there are supposed to be lows in the single digits with highs in the upper 20's for 3 days or so, that should help! Quote
Yos Posted January 26, 2002 Posted January 26, 2002 Yeah chris, how dare you take a few swings at the ice before I do. Come on man, just leave the ice alone for people like cappellini and me. Quote
chris_rieman Posted January 26, 2002 Posted January 26, 2002 aw come on! I just did what anybody else would've done. It was great to just swing an axe. Happy climbing this next week, it should be pretty good if we get the temps. they're predicting! [ 01-26-2002: Message edited by: chris rieman ] Quote

BigWave Posted January 31, 2002 Posted January 31, 2002 Beleive it or not the better ice is still on the west side of the Cascades. The ice out Banks just isn't in yet. But keep the beta coming so you can save me the drive. Quote
dan_e Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 Passed through on the way to Mazama hoping to climb something, but it was barely freezing and what is there is very anemic, including the devil's shooting gallery (yes the large daggers above the still open slab are formed nicely!) Dan E. Quote
