my guess is that with our lack of input, soon our wilderness will be on the Dow Jones Industrial.

 

Say no to trail fees. Boycott stores that sell the passes.

I don't want to rehash the same crap as other threads on this issue but....I ALREADY PAY ENOUGH FRIGGING TAXES! And say what you want, this is another tax.

 

I agree not a climber, Dow Jones new listing NFSFTP (Natioanl Forest Service _______ the public) will lead the "gainers" list.

We have had these trail user fees start a couple of years ago in New Hampshire.The fees are paid by Hikers/climbers at trail head parking lots.What do we get for it ?A brand new scenic overlook pull off on a wilderness area highway[i know,contridiction]with a big sign that says something like "paid for by your user fees"Wouldn't be such a big deal,but there is no trail there,exsisting or planned.I don't think those who are paying the fees are the ones using this pull off for the annual fall migration of the all too unendangered Eastern leaf peeper.Sorry for the serious run on sentences.

If you've purchased a Natl. Parks Pass (for example the yearly Golden Eagle which is $50, or the weekly permit), then you've already paid a user fee. Additional fees, if charged, should be for additional services --to cover rescue costs, for example. But that should be optional, IMO.

Drop an email to your Representative (www.house.gov), or Senator (www.senate.gov) expressing your dissatisfaction with additional "pay to play" trail fees.
