Eldorado Approach

Does Anyone know if the log crossing is intact at the Eldorado creek trailhead?

I know that the road is impassible at mp 17, I just am hoping to cut down the chance of walking two miles to find out that I have to turn around...

Not sure if you will find this helpful, but in the many times I have used the log crossing, it has not moved from year to year. My guess is unless unusually heavy flodding occurs it should stay put. Its a big tree after all.

My experience for many years now aligns with Dan's (DPS).

 

That's not to say that a torrent wont be far below you however.

Yeah I haven't seen the common crossing point move for years either, and have never had a problem crossing for Eldorado. Catch it on a warm day during high melt and it will likely be more exciting.

If you've never been, from the Eldorado Creek Trailhead parking lot walk back downstream a couple hundred feet along the stream bank and look for the obvious (large) tree. It is pretty tame for a Cascades tree river crossing. Follow the flagging and faint path on the other bank which becomes more distinct.
