chirp Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) To clarify, whenever DP's name comes up I get edgy, granted his skills are awesome, but his talent for self promotion and lack of respect for the environment, and some half truths render my respect for anything he does to zero. billcoe Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Folks who know him say just the opposite of that chirp. That he's kind, generous and thoughtful. Good dude. Quote

Perhaps, I have never met the fellow but just the news bits (Delicate Arch debacle), interviews, and such give me the impression of a grand self promoter. Plenty of active and "cutting edge" folk out there that do their thing with little fanfare and much positive action. Just saying... Quote
MATT_B Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 "crossed a distance of 40m (44 yards) in just over two minutes at a height of 1,800m (1,968 yards)" There must be something wrong with this. That would mean the canyon walls are almost vertical and 6000 feet high???? Not that it would matter too much if things went bad . . . Quote
