Climbing Harness for some one who is bigger

I am 6'3, 220 pounds and I cannot seem to find a harness that works right. I bought the Alpine BOD harness from REI in XL figuring it would have to fit. I can get the strap to go around my waist and into the buckle but only about an inch makes it through (obviously not safe).

 

Does any body have any recommendations?

I got no help for you, but am glad to hear of someone in grown up sizes like me. I thought I was the only one @ 5'11" and 205.

Yeah it kind of sucks. Actually I can get 4 inches around the waist through but it just feels like it doesnt fit right.

Hey guys, not the perfect fit but certainly useable in the 6" 220# range, Petzl HIRUNDOS and ADJAMA. I did a lot of climbing at that weight or more in those same harnesses.

 

I used both in a Large.

 

190# or so now thanks to a crash chemo diet. Which I don't recommend. Have to say my HIRUNDOS does fit better today though. Not enough better to buy a med but close

Hey Gregory, Check out the Petzl Corax Size 2, I work at a climbing shop and I can get this one to fit pretty well on larger people
