According to my random definition of what poverty means, 99.687% on the U.S. is impoverished. This relative poverty is getting out of control. Perhaps if 88.3945% of those who are "impoverished" simply used their i-Pad's to find jobs instead of reading that smarmy economist rag, they could pull themselves up by their bootstraps and ascend!

because we all know there is nothing compulsory about making one's economic condition the determinant of someone's ability to choose... just ask the ~50% of Americans in/near poverty level how voluntarily they make the choices they do.

 

The census bureau calls it 13ish%. I am sure that to you, anyone within $100,000/year of the poverty line is close enough to call "near poverty level;" at least for argument's sake.
