downey Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 it's officially lost - small grey gps may have fallen out of pocket somewhere on J-berg N rib (mid august) / descent to cascade pass, or possibly torment-forbidden traverse (mid-late aug). if you found one, i'd be stoked to have it back. thanks, Braden Quote
downey Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 yup... it's a garmin geko 300-ish. small, grey. Quote
downey Posted October 12, 2011 Author Posted October 12, 2011 Is it waterproof? well, if you go up to find it, you've earned it. that's the biggest chosspile and bushwack i've ever climbed. Quote
OlympicMtnBoy Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 The newer Foretrex 401 is a pretty good replacement unit, almost exactly the same as the geko but with the newer better receiver and some other minor improvements. Just in case it doesn't turn up . . . Quote
downey Posted October 13, 2011 Author Posted October 13, 2011 Thanks MtnBoy.. for the suggestion and reminding me of the positive side to the situation. The geko was a nice light, small unit, but it didn't work well under canopy which was a bummer. I'll look into the foretrex when I get a paycheck Quote
