RS2 Posted July 20, 2011 Author Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) I know where to buy them, I was just hoping maybe a fellow CC member might have some laying around that I could buy and not have to pay 6 bucks per bolt from fixe. Also I should have been more specific I am looking for 5 piece rawl bolts. Edited July 20, 2011 by RS2 Quote
corvallisclimb Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Are you adding bolts to the Salem Boulders? Quote
RS2 Posted July 20, 2011 Author Posted July 20, 2011 No, pending permission from the forest service (unless its considered wilderness) I was going to set a few anchors on opal creek wall to see if there is any potential for some sport routes. where is salem boulders? Or is the retaining wall on the railroad tracks considered salem boulders? Quote
corvallisclimb Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Opal is not really a "sport" climbing destination. And the wall is in fact in the Opal Creek Wilderness. Not to mention it would be a MAJOR pain in the ass to try and go top down there. There are some other walls in the area that may yeild some more quality sport climbing in a non wilderness area. Quote
RS2 Posted July 20, 2011 Author Posted July 20, 2011 Yeah, that might be a problem being in the wilderness area. But there is lots of potential for some hard bolted routes. Especially through the roof. If I got permission for a couple bolted anchors at the top, it wouldn't be that hard to set some fixed lines and work some quality routes. But seems like bolts may not be permissible. Too bad there isn't more cracks to climb up there. Quote
RS2 Posted July 20, 2011 Author Posted July 20, 2011 I guess you'll have to take be out there and show me how its done. Didn't look like there were too many gear placements! Well, solid gear placements anyways Quote
corvallisclimb Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 This aint' no sport crag... Lookin prime today, go jump on Steel & Stone if you have not already! Quote
