mzvarner
Any one have any experience with these? I am debating on these or the BD Mercury Mitt. Aso how is RAB and sizing? I know that for BD if they say medium i actually need a large. http://gearx.com/rab-modular-mitts.html?feed=P_Base_28914 Edited November 4, 2010 by mzvarner
bivchad
I love my Mercury mitts but they aren't seam sealed...for me they were warm enough for AK and of course here. It appears these Rab's are seam sealed which is the one thing the Mercury's aren't.
mzvarner
Ya I just got an E-mail back from BD about their Mercury mitt. I asked-"Recenty I came across a review saying that the shell [of the mercury mitt] its self does not have the BDry (only the thick insulated liner), therefore not water proof only water resistant,is this true? and is it possible to get some more info on what the BDry is (similar to Gortex, Event, ect.)?" "the bdry, which is our proprietary gore-tex (basically), is on the liner, as the shell has a lot of leather. I usually treat the leather with snow-seal as well, which makes them double water-proofed."-Adam Smart Edited November 5, 2010 by mzvarner
BigSky
I wear a large in both BD and Rab gloves for what it's worth--though no experience with the Rab Modular in particular. I roll with eVent whenever possible.
dberdinka
Where as all other major glove manufactures seem to have identical sizing to one another, RABs seem slight off. Which is GREAT if lgs tend to be to large and mds tend to be to small. Been really happy with my RAB Latok gloves, there modular mitss definitely seem very well made (and fit me great with good dexterity). zeroforhire
I usually say go for eVent whenever you can.... but with the prices you can get the mercury mitt for; you really should consider it. I love my mercury mitt... I have used it for a lot of stuff here in the pacific northwest... it is a great mitt.
