Lucky Larry Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 (edited) overheard 2 weeks ago at smith rawk: leader to group, "what's warmer, being totally soaked with your clothes on, or naked and wet?" Student, "naked and wet." Instructor, "that's right." What the hay? What about wind chill? Maybe that's why some people are found woundering around the mountain naked. bstach Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Interesting hypothesis, but no. It is quite common in the delirium of late stage hypothermia for victims to disrobe. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 It's much better to be naked and wet south of, say, Cancun. Quote
Coldfinger Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Yeah well the next options are: Â 1. Into dry clothes. 2. Naked and needing body heat RIGHT NOW! Quote
dhrmabum Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Naked with another member of the opposite sex(for me, anyway), also naked, to warm ya up! Quote
climbercam Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 I had a First Responder instructor say it is worse to be in wet cotton than be naked. Quote
