summerprophet Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Central Washington Climbing Guides is again offering a (brief) self-rescue course for rockclimbers. This will be a weekday afternoon at the Royal Columns, and will quickly cover a number of tricks and techniques to get you and your partner out of a bind in the event of the worst happening. The class will be held at Royal Columns, and will commence at 5:30, May 19th, 2010. Just like last year, this class will be free of charge, but donations can be made to Central Washignton Mountain Rescue. Donations can be made via the following methods: Online: http://www.cwmr.org/donate.html Mail: Central Washington Mountain Rescue, P.O. Box 2663 Yakima, Washington 98907 Drop Box: Bob's Keg and Cork, 27 North Front Street Yakima, WA 98901 NOTE: Despite the name similarities, CWCG is not affiliated with CWMR in any way, but if self-rescue is not an option, these are the folks who are going to be showing up. They can use the funds, and hopefully you will never need their help. Be Safe, Justin
genepires Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 not that I am complaining about free training but how much self rescue can be covered in a brief course. If it starts at 5:30 pm, then maybe they got 3 hours of material. (unless rapping in the dark is part of the training) BTW, thanks for offering the material CWCG!
Off_White Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Stoopid question: 5:30 am or pm? The start of the thread states "weekday afternoon" so I'm thinking PM.
