depending on conditions and what happens with school this week thinking of going to ski the south side route. what time should i leave the car if i'm wanting to do it car to car?

I think when I did it C2C I left the trailhead at around 5 or 6 AM and I think it took me about 12 hours total, and I was of pretty average fitness. But is the road open to the trailhead? Take that into account.

Even if the snow has melted on the road to the trailhead the FS won't have cleared the fallen trees, so unless you want to do chainsaw work you will have about a 8-9 miles approach to the trailhead, which is assuming you can drive to the first large fallen tree, assuming no more have fallen recently.

Yeah there haven't been any reports of the trees being cleared yet and the GFNF website doesn't have any recent updates on the road with the last update being "closed by snow"
