Partner for Mount Stuart via Sherpa Glacier Route

I have a whole week off from today until April 4th. I am wanting to climb Mount Stuart the Sherpa Glacier Route, although I could settle for the Cascadian Couloir. This route looked like very much fun.

Josh,

The road to get into Cascadian Couloir route is probably not open yet. I'm not sure of the road #s, but it's the Teanaway junction road near Cle Elum.

I'm going to do that one a little later in the season. You're welcome to join me then.

I'll check this week on roads, if they're close to being open, I'll let you know...I'm interested in this climb.

teanaway still not fully open. still about 10 miles of roadway not accessible.

 

take into account of trail walking. albeit, not much ele gain/loss on the trail to get access to the couloir though.

You access this route through Leavenworth.

Sherpa Glacier via Mountaineers Creek. The Cascadian via Longs Pass or Beverly Turnpike. Or a long slog up Ingalls Creek.

I could settle for any of the given routes, but perferably Sherpa Glacier via Mountaineers Creek. Right now conditions are looking horrible so I'll give it a while before wanting to do this. When avy conditions go down to a 1-2 then I'll be wanting this.

if you want to do it via sherpa, bridge creek is still a ways from opening yet...i'd give it a couple more weeks to open up, same with teanaway or added weeks for that road.

Bridge creek may be a ways from opening but thats about 1/4 of the distance of walking the teanaway. Bridge creek is melting out fast, already more than half of it clear so bring mtn bikes and the way out will be super fast.

I'm down for biking, but would it be icy biking? I've biked on ice once and slipped, never tried it again.

Last week it was clear for the first two miles or so then snow. It goes pretty fast if walking but its still an extra 4 miles onto the approach.

Count me in on this one... I attempted this route 2 yrs ago but had to turn around just above the "schrund" in the col above sherpa glacier (rock fall and time constraints).Give it a couple weeks and the route should shape up nicely..
