  1. Topher, thanks for the advice. I did post on SP, working good so far. Some quick things about me: My name is Chris. I'm relatively new to mountaineering with a fairly young climbing resume. I have been rock climbing for 4 years now. Limited in the technical ice area, but have ice climbed with a friend a couple times. Have climbed a handful of peaks here in the WA Cascades and some volcanoes, including Adams and Glacier Peak. First off, I consider safety to be the most important factor in anything I intend to do, not just on the mountain. Second, I like to enjoy my climbs, but I am goal oriented, I set way points and deadlines to make destinations, as long as it's safe to do so. Third, I'm a relatively strong hiker and I wake up really early!
  2. Date has been changed to 17-18 of April. Hopefully this will allow the snow to settle and avy conditions to be more reasonable. And hopefully this window will allow for a partner to emerge.
  3. if you want to do it via sherpa, bridge creek is still a ways from opening yet...i'd give it a couple more weeks to open up, same with teanaway or added weeks for that road.
  4. teanaway still not fully open. still about 10 miles of roadway not accessible. take into account of trail walking. albeit, not much ele gain/loss on the trail to get access to the couloir though.
  5. Intereseted. Though curious as to which approach. I've not done it from Darrington, only from Little Wenatchee. Summit once, the other time we turned back because of my buds feet getting blistered badly... From LW..it's a long approach, but we made it a long day to the Gap then summit next day via DPC hitting upper Cool Glacier. Keep me poste please as to exact dates and routes...
  6. Thanks for the beta, ClimbingCoastie When doing Green Butte, I've been doing some research, it looks as if I would have to stay on the easterly side of the ridge when nearing Thumb Rock...but when going towards Thumb Rock, which side is advisable, to the left or right of the rock? It seems as if this part of the ridge is the most exposed section...beta on this area would be greatly appreciated!
  7. I'll check this week on roads, if they're close to being open, I'll let you know...I'm interested in this climb.
  8. I might change the route depending on avy conditions. Route beta on Green Butte and Casaval Ridge from anyone here who's done those would be great. Those are alternative routes if avy forecast isn't looking great on Avalanche Gulch...
  9. Hi, I'm looking for a climbing partner to go up Mount Shasta April 15-16. I'll be heading down there on my way to Fort Bragg and then to San Dimas for the week and was hoping to get a shot at climbing this one. Not much of a fan of climbing solo, so if you guys/gals hear of someone who's interested on those dates, let me know! Thanks a lot! [edit] I have changed my route to Green Butte if conditions allow...it's going to be tentative for now until the window closes in on the date of the climb. I'm deciding whether or not to change my dates to the weekend April 17-18...to maybe open up a better window of allowing avy conditions to settle and to hopefully tempt in some partners...seems mid-week doesn't work for most people...I'm fairly flexible on my schedule..
  10. Got a planned 'shoe up icicle ridge sat dec 5th. You're more than welcome to join. Also, I have a brewing plan to climb at vantage in the upcoming weeks with a couple persons. More than welcome to join on that one too. PM or preferably send me an email at chris24eph(at)gmail(dot)com
  11. Go ahead and add me to that e-mail. I'm eager to get out every weekend again. I type my e-mail as that, so that in case the e-mail gets leaked. It's not in normal format for spammers to come in and snag a quick address so to fill up my inbox with trash. But yes, that's my e-mail address...lol. I know call me paranoid.
  12. Monty, How often does this group head out? I'd like to go out as often as possible...is there a contact list? To me it seems intrusive to just show up and expect the group to welcome a person, unless expected. Any info appreciated on contacts or time and dates. I get every weekend off and can sometimes swing a friday here and there.
  13. Hi all, I'm looking for a reliable partner to climb with, for sport and or trad. (I have only a sport rack at the moment) I've been climbing for about 2 years now and can comfortably lead 5.10a...that was last year, sadly this season I had no one to climb with, either moved away or just couldn't find time to match each others schedules. I'm a little rusty, but wouldn't take much to get back into game. I'm willing to travel, but would like to climb in vantage area since it's closest, I'm okay with Leavenworth also. I'd like to get into trad climbing eventually, but I'm not sure I'd want to invest in the gear until I try it out on some moderate rock. If anyone wishes to contact me, please e-mail me: chris24eph at gmail dot com. Thanks, Chris
  14. Okay, putting this on hold for indefinitely. Number of different reasons. Nice site here by the way!
  15. Hello, first of all..I'm new here. I've had an ongoing thread on www.nwhikers.net for a partner(s) to summit Glacier Peak with me. I'll post what I posted there, to spare you all my rambling. I haven't done Glacier Peak before and I'd like to bag this one this season. I've been doing a lot of research and this weekend I'm going up to check out the LCHR (No summit this weekend). I'm from Ephrata,WA...which is about 30-40 minutes away from Wenatchee. Let me know, via e-mail or PM!
