fenderfour Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I've been collecting some old school stuff and now I'm kind of tired of it. Who wants some frightening old gear? Excalibur USA Ice screw This screw has a neat wrenching hanger, an oversize aluminum tube and steel teeth. Old Nutz Diamond C (Chouinard) on the left, Wild Country in the middle, SMC on the right Steel Oval Carabiners These are more recent military gear. Still not "new" but "newer" Rawl 1/4 taper drill handle Sorry for the crappy pic. Too much coffee. This is basically a piece of hex steel with a tapered end that held the bit. The drift for removing the bit is included. Scary slider nut Brass, one side has a lead face. The two halves slide in a nice dovetail. Stamped "3" on the brass face. Mammut Perrin Nuts Blue, Yellow, Orange, and Green These might be the scariest pieces of the bunch #1 WC Friend This is the older machined version, not the current forged friend Early CCH Aliens Purple, Orange, Yellow These are not tested, not guaranteed, but probably made in the time when Aliens were good. Old Rope and Carabiner Hemp with a really old steel oval, Goldline with an old Aluminun Chouinard First Generation Black Diamond Camalots #1 and #2 Salewa ascenders on goldline None of this stuff should be used for climbing, especially the half-rotten hemp rope. It would be easiest for me to let this all go as a group. As climbing gear, this stuff isn't worth a thing. As neat-o stuff to hang around the house or put in a display case, it's priceless. Send me a PM with an offer. I'm in Seattle and I work in Everett. Can arrange a hand-off in between. Shipping is possible if you want the whole lump. Quote
JosephH Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Old School is a matter of perspective I guess. With the exception of the Salewa ascenders and the 1st gen. Camalots I'd climb on all the rest of it no problem. Glad I don't have to climb on goldline anymore, though, that stuff did suck. Quote
Teminbi Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Mazama Museum would be very interested in the Salewa ascenders. PM sent. Quote
billcoe Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Got to sell the sizzle Jeff, not the steak! LOL! Quote

billcoe Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Ascenders going to the Mazama Museum That's so cool! I wonder if we can get a trip report of the Mazamas museum? Maybe some pictures? Like Danes ice axe collection kind of stuff.......the end of the year is coming up, maybe it will help troll solicit some donations as rich folks try and get their tax bill down. Quote
