him Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Hey guys/gals/climbers. I have just had a lot of gear stolen from basement. I wanted to alert folks on this site, but also have people be vigilant for any of this gear. If you hear/see any of this or any other suspicious postings, please feel free to contact me. Thanks for the help. Below is a list of the gear that has gone missing. There might be more that I haven't noticed, but this is the preliminary list. Thanks again. pindude Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I feel your pain, Him. Keep checking craigslist, and the area pawnshops at appropriate times. If the thief is pawning, they may well try and pawn at a shop they think is far enough removed that a Portlander wouldn't notice. So have your friends--including here--be on the lookout at other towns like Eugene, Salem, Medford, Vancouver, even Tri-Cities and Seattle. My latest personal experience had the thief steal my stuffed crag pack here in Spokane, then he pawned everything in Boise. If I'd discovered my shit before the five years it took, I may well have caught the little bastard. I'm sure you've filed a police report for at least insurance purposes. Good luck. Quote
billcoe Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Can you show some pictures and/or let us us know your marking scheme? I have engraved my drivers license #, written my name in black felt tip on others, and used paint in difficult to remove places with my colors of blue and yellow and also posted my rack pics for this very reason. If and when this happens to me, I don't want my stuff to be invisible to my friends in the pawn shops or where ever it ends up. Wishing you a fast and full recovery.....damn that sucks. Quote
ropegoat Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 dude, I'm in Portland and would happy to help keep an eye out- they cleaned you out. Where abouts was the robbery? Was there forced entry? that is super super bogus, let me know how I can help Quote
climbercam Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 What color was the haulbag? Where was this stolen from? Quote
LostCamKenny Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Woah, that is some list! Call Next Adventure and talk to them and let them know what you lost. They buy used gear and if you could talk to them before they have a chance to buy any of what was stolen from you then you might see it again. Criminals are stupid. Cheers. Keep us updated on this matter. Quote
