DPS Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Pete Sinclair has a nice account of this rescue in his book "We Aspired - The Last Innocent Americans". Quote
Ponderosa Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 A fine story and great photos - particularly, of the North Face. Also, nice to put some faces with names I've known for over thirty years. Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 wow, it's crazy how many folks in the story were pursuing phds or were professors. was that just draft-dodging, or mostly that climbing has become more mainstream since then? Quote
ScaredSilly Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Most of those on the rescue were dirt bags that had already served their 2 years. PS I am proud to say that some of those dirt bags are good friends who I have had the privilege to share a rope with on many of occasion. PSS Rumors are that there is movie documentary in the works.
