Pete_H Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 be sure to jam your bloody hands into the bird crap infested cracks to achieve maximum sepsis points. Toxic shock is the tradest. Quote
G-spotter Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Why bother to even climb, if you really want that emo kid look just slash the backs of your hands with a steak knife a couple times and cry so your black eyeshadow runs Quote
dirtysloper Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 does anybody not tape for j-tree? and not bleed. show yourself and i'll bow! Quote
catbirdseat Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I don't give a crap what anybody thinks. If I am at Joshua Tree and the route is a hand crack 5.8 or harder, I am taping. Quote
G-spotter Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 does anybody not tape for j-tree? and not bleed. show yourself and i'll bow! Two weeks in Josh with no tape. Guy on the left had lots of technique, guy opn the right had none, then you got me in the middle Quote
markwebster Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I tape because I've got scars from 3 decades of thrashing up stuff over my head and don't want more. If it's easy, I don't tape, but who wants to climb easy stuff all the time? if you are gonna' tape, use the best. I found it in the Yosemite climbing store, better than Metolius tape. It has cool pinstripes in it that allow easy ripping long way, and super sticky. You can also buy it online here: http://www.allmed.net/catalog/item/2531 Quote
LostCamKenny Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Sheesh... Just climb! Who cares if you bleed a bit. Tape if you want to and don't if don't. Dip your bloody knuckles in your beer after the climb to clean them out if you cut yourself up, and for heaven's sake don't ever think that technique depends whether or not you bleed... If you make it up the route, survive the descent and make it back to spray then your technique was good! Quote
