IHATEPLASTIC Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Glen Denny will be in Portland showing his fantastic photos from Yosemite in the Sixties. This is a classic coffee table book and seeing the images on the big screen while Glen tells his stories of climbing in Yosemite during the Golden Age is a killer experience. Come spend an evening filled with great stories, glorious slides and climbing friends. Glen will sign copies of his books and huge posters! Advance tickets only! Glen Denny Tickets Thursday, June 18 7:00 PM Portland Community College Quote
Hugh Conway Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I swear I've seen a picture posted from this book here, just what was it? Quote
IHATEPLASTIC Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 I'll try and get something up later today. The book is FULL of huge B&Ws from some classic climbs (Dihedral Wall, Rostrum, Los Arrow) as well as informal portraits of classic climbers (Kor, Rowell, Harding, Chouinard, Robbins, Bridwell, etc.) Quote
JosephH Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Got my tickets!!! Denny, Robbins, Donnini, Largo, and Portland's own Dean Caldwell - not to be missed... Quote
Peter_Puget Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Its a neat show but if it's same as what he presented in Seattle a few months ago..expect no JD, JL or Caldwell Quote
JosephH Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Peter, those are each seperate shows between now and November - as far as I know Simon has never said they're doing a group show though I believe several folks will be at the Stonemasters show. See the tour's website for the details on the various upcoming Portland shows Quote

Off_White Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I swear I've seen a picture posted from this book here, just what was it? You mean that one of MisterE as a happy grubby Camp 4 dirt child? Quote
IHATEPLASTIC Posted June 10, 2009 Author Posted June 10, 2009 Peter, Glen's show is perhaps more reserved and dignified whereas Largo, Bullwinkle and even Donini are a bit more... loose. It's sorta the difference between doing the Nose on El Cap with bivis and doing the NIAD. (Ya know, I don't even know what that means...) Quote
IHATEPLASTIC Posted June 10, 2009 Author Posted June 10, 2009 As we approach Glen's show (June 18) I want to make sure everyone knows the value of buying your ticket BEFORE the event. It's simple... Option #1: Buy your tickets before the event and get them for $12 each. (Some shows may be higher) Option #2: Buy your tickets at the event and get them for $15 each. (Some shows may be higher.) So why not save enough for a beer? Pre-order tickets and sleep well knowing you won't be faced with a "SOLD OUT!" sign at the door! Quote
