LMo
Moving up to the Seattle area from San Diego for the summer for work. Have Aug 22- Sep 20 entirely open to climb all over Washington! Planning on Rainier Aug 28-30 but what other climbs are good late season? Mostly looking for what volcano routes hold up best. Any suggestions appreciated, thanks! prussik1
Are you wanting glaciated peaks? Are you only wanting to climb in washington?
ivan
that's a pretty suckass time of year for volcanoes - i imagine you could get up dog route on baker if you insisted then though - broaden your horizons though, check out shuksan, stuart, and other n cascade non-volcanic peaks! genepires
Baker late season is a fine adventure. Very fun and thoughtful glacier travel and some exposed glacier ice make it a fun time. Don't think that volcanoes are lame, just another good time for a lame sport.
t_rutl
Eldorado, Klawatti, Sahale, Boston...that whole area is great late season Baker & Shuksan would be fine adventures as well that time of year...just be solid on your glacier travel!! Even Adams would get you up high...long approach but Glacier would be easier to get to that time of year as well. Enjoy!
