Doug Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Has anyone heard of an author or publisher of a climbing guide being sued as the result of an accident? You can PM with any specifics you don't want to use as spray bait. Quote
peas Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Try contacting Matt Gunn, who wrote "Scrambles in Southwest British Columbia". Cairn Publishing I know that he put some thought into liability while he was writing his guide. Quote
Pete_H Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Interesting thought. If a guidebook has some incorrect information which someone relied upon and was subsequently injured as a result, I could see a lawsuit having some legs. Fortunately, I would imagine climbers would be less likely to sue than other types. Quote
Crillz Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Not sure it would mean much to a lawyer, but don't most guidebooks basically say, don't trust the information in this book because it might be wrong. Quote
Winter Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I would ask this guy. http://rec-law.blogspot.com/ Quote
