What are the people's thoughts on using a 0-degree bag for the West Ridge of Hunter? High camp will probably be below 12k'. I'll also have the Mountain Hardwear Chugach pants and Feathered Friends Icefall parka to compliment the bag. It is a Western Mountaineering Kodiak bag.

I used a 15 degree bag on Hunter, but that was early June. I wore MH Chugach pants and a big down parka layered over the top of the bag. It worked out well. I think a 0 degree bag should be fine.

I used a 0F bag and a 30F bag for a Denali trip last year and was fine. I used the 0F bag up to 14k on the West Butt and the 30F bag at both 17k and for 3 days on the Cassin. I also had the option to use the lighter bag as a blanket if it was really cold.

Probably doesn't make sense but we did the trip a bit different than most. Along with 2 bags for most people we had 7 tents, 5 stoves, and 1200#s of gear for our 6 person team. The hardest part was getting it all up to 14. Above that the livin' was easy. Have a great trip!

mtnman- thanks for posting, I am planning to use 0 degree and 30 degree 2 bag combo on west buttress this year (going late season), and was curious about other experiences.
